We were almost screwed by another design company and I was looking forward to naming them on QBN. Releasing the hounds!
We were asked to produce a poster for a design exhibition in Denmark, very low budget, no deposit, but a good project from another well established design company. After approval of the art work, they stopped emailing me, ignored my invoices and requests for payment. For 2 months.
What would you have done?

are they using it?

Have you called? If not, try calling and talking to whomever is in charge of the company. Explain in a calm and friendly tone what happened. Sound mystified at what could have gone awry, and ask if they could look into the matter.

almost screwed???
so you've now received payment?

Dear xxxxxx,From one design company to another I’m appalled you are avoiding payment.
The money is not important, but your lack of business principles and poor manner in which this has been handled disappoints me.Please ensure payment reaches us by the end of this week.
I will start the SEO process to discredit you and your company Monday as I feel other people should be made aware of your conduct.Again, my paypal email is xxxxxx, you may make a payment to this email address.

They paid the next day!

Was there any explanation? I think your letter was harsh. They MAY be deadbeats BUT there could have been any number of reasons that contributed to this -- like maybe the event was cancelled, the person you were dealing with left, they're overwhelmed with work and this was set on the back burner and forgotten temporarily. Stuff like this happens all the time.

- That scenario doesn't excuse them of lack of communication, though.Continuity

They event wasn't cancelled. They probably just used another poster. no big deal. They could have let me know, offered to pay half, or involve us in a future project. I was dealing with the director of the company, whom (i guess) decided that as it wasn't much money, she could just ignore me and she wouldn't need to pay.
interestingly during the 2+ months of me sending reminders, she replied to just one of them saying money on the way, which really pissed me off as she had requested to pay by paypal.

Sounds like you burnt a bridge, but also sounds like a bridge that needed burning

All's well(-ish) that ends well(-ish).
Pity the bridge got burnt, but they only have themselves to blame for that one. And, hey ... you finally got paid.

Thanks Mydo, I used part of your letter for a design company I freelanced for that has left me hanging for over 2 months on a $3k payment. Fingers crossed they cut the ignoring and excuses and pay up.

ha! hope it works. I was honestly thinking of buying her-name.com getting it top of google (easy) but with nice honest content on.
then show her she was top of google, before swapping content out slowly for evil shit.

I'd never do business with you. Sounds like you have too much time on your hands from other people not doing business with you also.
