a site with a similar domain name to ours has stolen all the content from our site. I have contacted their server and filled out a DMCA Infringement Notification, but google has already ranked their site, swapping our url with theirs. What else can you do?

YOU CAN SUE THEM
(caps for effectiveness)
do you have a link to their site?

D-DOS, D-DOS!

hang-on, google has swapped your site for theirs? wtf? link or this is crap.
- Continuity0
Links please. We'll give them the QBN wire-brush enema. :D

variousartists.com.au is the site that stole my content. My URL is thevariousartists.com.au which has gone done for a unknown reason interestingly enough. Have a look at the photo of the front of the building. The URL on the billboard says thevariousartists.com.au.

the old domain name has this brian keayes as the registrant.
the new site still has his name in the 'about' page.
so, either some idiot has gone to great lengths to copy an entire site for no immediate reason or the various artists (the client i'm guessing) have cut you out of the loop for some unknown reason.

OK, this isn't making a whole lot of sense.
- airey0
stripping it to what i understand the story to be:
1: the site originally had the url: thevariousartists.com.au
and was hosted by our mate here (apparently)2: the site was copied and hosted with the url variousartists.com.au
now the site is still listing the brian keayes fellow as a contact and he's the cd at ae. so either ae here is brian keayes or his partner is ousting him.

Variousartists.com.au have copied my whole site. My only guess is to hijack the google ranking???
- ae0
Also, I am Brian Keayes...
- Continuity0
All right. In that case, I'd be hitting up a lawyer straight away.
- airey0
why would they hijack it for the same content. would you steal a site only to promote the original client? it looks like they've just moved hosting and ditched you.
as your old site isn't appearing it's not looking good for your story brother.

Do you know why http://www.thevariousartists.com… is not working?
- airey0
i see there's 4 other people involved. have they, by any chance, told you to go fuck yourself lately and made you walk the plank from the good ship va?
- airey0
i mean, they haven't stolen a site to use their own content. it's literally your site hosted elsewhere with a modified URL.
- ukit0
Perhaps you are no longer one of the various artists?
- ae0
Yep. It is a shame because Liam Young I think is the guy who stole my content. A jealous creative I guess. His site is liamyoung.variousartists.com.au and seams talented. I guess this is what you do when you don't have skills to pay the bills.
- Name-dropping isn't necessarily a good approach here ...Continuity
- I still don't get how he profits from this.ORAZAL
- I didn't want to namedrop but it needed to happen so you could see I am not making this up.ae

Where's that Michael Jackson eating popcorn gif

I don't get it. Was it only your site or like the name would suggest some kind of collective? If so, wouldn't first step be to contact the others involved rather than post on here?
