I think most of the peeps posting the outrageous anti-semetic stuff are agent provocateurs to distract from actual criticism of the Israeli state policy. Nice work...
Meanwhile, Turkey for one has had enough:
"Israel's behavior should definitely, definitely be punished," a visibly angry Erdogan told a meeting of his parliamentary deputies, adding: "The time has come for the international community to say 'enough'."

Ireland is officially supporting another aid ship, leaving for Israel today:
"The MV Rachel Corrie, a converted merchant ship bought by pro-Palestinian activists and named after an American woman killed in the Gaza Strip in 2003, set off Monday from Malta, organizers said. "We are an initiative to break Israel's blockade of 1.5 million people in Gaza. Our mission has not changed and this is not going to be the last flotilla," Free Gaza Movement activist Greta Berlin, based in Cyprus, told Reuters.
Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen described the vessel as Irish-owned and said it should be allowed to finish its mission. The ship was carrying 15 activists including a northern Irish Nobel Peace laureate."
I think this little gamesmanship playing schtick that Israel has gotten away with for 50+ years is about past it's due date and the bill is about to come due.
- mossad's gonna disable the ship in cyprus, like they did with 2 of the recent flotilla.bigtrickagain

Looks like A new boat is on its way to Gaza, that's absolutely what needs to be done just like Ghandi against the british. pacifism, human rights or violence intolerance, you choose, the world will choose.
- Or just like the Zionists against the UK Blockade in 1945. History is a funny fucking thing, ain't it.TheBlueOne

At the end of the day, what kind of resolution are you going to have without a deal (peace settlement) with the Palestinians?
Actions like this are pushing that further and further away.
- The only way this will truly resolve itself is if Israel is left to its own devices, and not have other countries shielding it all the time.Continuity

We learnt that it's geo-political business as usual, and that people have a right to their own opinions.

Of course it isn't right. If a country decides to be a member of the UN, then it needs to agree to play by the rules.

I know countries violate UN resolutions all the time. It make a mockery of the intent of the Security Council.
I am asking if people think this is right.
If they do think it is right, where is the base of legitimacy?

Lowimpakt:
Whilst it's a noble thought that any country - including Israel - should be bound by UN articles and resolutions, the fact of the matter is that countries pick and choose what they want to abide by.
And this isn't just Israel. A recent blatant violation of UN resolutions can be found in the supposed 'independence' of Kosovo from Serbia. UN Resolution 1244 specifically states that Serbia is the successor state of what was previously Yugoslavia, and that Kosovo was still a province of Serbia.
Nonetheless, some western powers - particularly the US - out-manoeuvred the UN and proclaimed Kosovo was its own state, despite minority UN member recognition, and clear resolution violation.
That fact is, you can call any country on UN violation of this or UN that until you're blue in the face, and they'll still ignore it.

It's also kind of interesting how no one here can seem to muster an iota of the righteous indignation shown about Israel for Egypt, which is also participating in this blockade. Egypt, which rightly blames Hamas as being the cause of this entire dilemma, has fired on Palestinians seeking to break its portion of the blockade. I guess it's okay then, though.
- egypt just opened the border with gaza.bigtrickagain
- Not to uninspected shipments, which is precisely what the blockade is about. But you knew that, I'm sure.dog_opus
- food and medical supplies are let through. unlike with israel, where only food/supplies on the list are let through.bigtrickagain
- but you knew that, i'm sure.bigtrickagain
