    FYI, in Colombia it’s $3 or $4 a gram.

Ok, apparently the baby slept for like 5 hours this afternoon while I worked my ass off and his mom was certainly decided to fuck up my early morning in revenge to something. Luckily enough, I got a Lavazza Espresso Ristretto and lot’s of time.

Only time I did other drugs than weed, coke and lsd, was in Ibiza, 2009, where I was introduced to MDMA and Speed.

I sucked one finger full with MDMA. Mine, my own fucking finger, in Bora Bora, drank 2 or 3 cocktails, and suddenly felt myself dancing with my gf in slo-mo, inside of a real-life snapchat filter. I think I might have had some very little more like an hour later.

The drug slowly kicked me out of the club. I wanted to be more like in a beach environment than anywhere else.

Found a small plastic tube which I recognised as being from a special batch of 100x strength Salvia Diviniorum extract that was made way back in the days when I used to be involved with that sort of thing. Mentioned it to my partner who got quite excited as she's never done it before, and i was like "shit, that was a mistake" as she then quickly suggested we have a go the next day.

I don't do psychedelics any more and I'm super wary about being a sitter for my babymother as she does a toot of ridiculostrength psychedelic that's been lying at the back of a drawer for over a decade, but wtf, it's not like I can say no (having done so for about 7 years now..).

Next day we get the kid to bed and she mentions it. I dig around for a pipe - none to be found except some fuck off huge novelty bamboo thing that her cousin brought for us a few years ago - I always hated that thing and resent its existence because I couldn't throw it out, but finally it had a use.

I go first, and have a wee toot, which does nothing. "PHEW" I think - "it's diminished after a decade of poor storage". Seeing my partner's slightly suspicious eyeing, I give it another go and this time get a proper lungful and

    Oh
    My
    Dear
    Gods

I forgot what psychedelics are like.

I'm unwinding through some hyper-colourful multi-dimensional space that I can only loosely describe as being like some colourful art deco travel poster from the 20s. I am totally immersed in this reality and an infinity of time later I spiral around and see my partner wide-eyed looking at me and I want to pull her in with me, but can't. I slipped back in and out of this realm, staying here in the atomic world for longer and longer periods until I can begin to think "shit, what's she thinking about all this - is she worried?". She's not. She's gleeful.

I eventually come out - probably only 10 minutes later, and resolve to be The Best Goddamn Drug Sitter I can be - so set her up, make her comfortable, remove all dangerous or breakable articles from the vicinity then set her off. I take the pipe as it slips from her hand and I do my best to Be There but not impose my presence, so freaking her out.

She spent the next 10 minutes cackling at the top of her lungs and I'm sitting there doing my best for her but also wondering WTF the neighbours are thinking as it's 1.30am (on a Saturday, admittedly) and their neighbour's clearly just gone fucking nuts.

I've really missed drugs, especially short-period ones like Salvia. I will never do acid again, will more than likely not do mushrooms - but now I've reopened the bottle, I'm thinking I can dip into Salvia, DMT or NOx again.

    Hello again, old friends.

    • Oh, and ketamine.

      Christ, that stuff was interesting.

    • i stopped using "hard" drugs a while ago but opium, for me, is still an option...renderedred
    • You ever had it? I found it a little underwhelming, coming from a background of much more instant headFuck drugs - even Skunk, etc.Nairn
    • ..although I always figured that that's what made opium so potentially dangerous.Nairn
    • Is salvia the drug that makes people eat other people’s faces? Or am I confusing it for anotherGnash
    • That was Bath Salts. Salvia's the one that was popular on YT years back because heavy users might accidentally destroy their living roomsNairn
    • I like the idea of a short-term psychedelic. Bit nervous to jump into the extended world offered by acid and mushrooms againGnash
    • haven't done salvia in years but will never tire of the world turning to cubes, zooming through holes and coming around rolling on the floor laughing.kingsteven
    • had some acid not so long ago, was great until i landed back at a house party and was surrounded by absolute melterskingsteven
    • @nairn i had lots of opium yes :) i'm more into "downers" less into speeding up things. i don't like coke for example.renderedred
    • at the moment i'm considering micro dosing with acid. that's the plan.renderedred
    • @gnash - yeah, sounds like my general exp. This was the first time I recall hyper-colour from salvia - my memory is mostly B&W where that stuff's concernedNairn
    • @rend - right there with you, man - if there's one drug I've always hated, it's coke. It turns even the nicest people into egotistical fuckpigs.Nairn
    • I've been curious about micro-dosing, however I remember feeling 'unsettled' if I only did part doses of psilocybin, neither here, neither there.Nairn
    • ^yup, me included :)renderedred
    • Perhaps I should give actual micro doses a try sometime, rather than just 'shit I didn't do enough' doses.Nairn
    • oops, sorry gnash - I meant @kingstevenNairn
    • if you can. gnash, try smoking DMT - it's fairly short, but fairly intense and wonderfully psycho/visualNairn
    • For me nothing will ever surpass heavy NOx usage. I travelled through time and had absolute proof of Jahweh, which was a bit scary for a non-believer...Nairn
    • ..but you need lots of the stuff to get there, from a big tank, not these stupid wee whip things that cunts leave all over the streets.Nairn

    • Nice! Did you guys ever spawn to bags or did you always use monotubs?scarabin
    • From what I remember - mushrooms in tubs (large, like pics 2 & 3), truffles in jars. I know bags were a thing, but i don't ever recall going that route.Nairn
    • Small tubs in pic 5 would've been either 'exotics' to sell, or tests.Nairn
    • Is that grain you’re fruiting on? What substrate did the truffles grow in?scarabin

    • This is 15 years in my past, I can barely remember specifics, if you're looking for input. I'd hope that psyche forums would be much more useful than I here!Nairn
    • @scar - this is *very* vague memory, but mushrooms had a complex grain mix, whereas truffles were just rye grainNairn
    • I'm probably bullshitting, but - shrooms needed more care through their fruiting, so we ended up with a mix of small and large grains that would feed thru cycleNairn
    • Sclerotia don't need that. they need more consistency. Again, I may very well be mis-remembering.Nairn
    • I can’t believe it was legal. So awesomeGnash
    • tbh, by the time the top photo was taken, we had two guys working in a 'laboratory' and a lot of the specific detail was beyond my kenNairn

There’s no question that the psychedelic renaissance is in full bloom. After a decades-long battle to push through regulatory barriers and overcome long-enduring stigmas, psychedelics are poised to cross the threshold into a post-prohibition future of FDA approval, legalization, and a thriving biotech industry.

To investors, psychedelics are increasingly looking like a good bet. Last month, the psychedelic renaissance reached a new milestone when Compass Pathways, a London-based psilocybin research and therapy company, became the first psychedelic company to go public—receiving a post-IPO run-up valuation of $1.1 billion. Compass (which received seed investment from Peter Thiel’s Thiel Capital) was granted Breakthrough Therapy designation from the FDA for COMP360, a new method for the large-scale production of synthetic psilocybin. The company is currently conducting an FDA Phase 2b clinical trial of psilocybin therapy for treatment-resistant depression, with results expected in 2021.
