I found an old archive of photos that I was pissed off having lost, or so I thought. From my 'mushroom days'..

Mushroom with another mushroom growing out of the top of it..

    Truffles..

    Buying from the Dutch..

    For sterilising shit..

Our first, slightly crappy but beloved, stall in Camden..

    • Nice! Did you guys ever spawn to bags or did you always use monotubs?scarabin
    • From what I remember - mushrooms in tubs (large, like pics 2 & 3), truffles in jars. I know bags were a thing, but i don't ever recall going that route.Nairn
    • Small tubs in pic 5 would've been either 'exotics' to sell, or tests.Nairn
    • Is that grain you’re fruiting on? What substrate did the truffles grow in?scarabin
    • Can the three of us start a discord channel? I want to talk with both of you.imbecile
    • Fun :)i_was
    • eh, you still need to corroborate which account you are on the general QBN channel, imbecile - there're like three of you on there! :)Nairn
    • This is 15 years in my past, I can barely remember specifics, if you're looking for input. I'd hope that psyche forums would be much more useful than I here!Nairn
    • @scar - this is *very* vague memory, but mushrooms had a complex grain mix, whereas truffles were just rye grainNairn
    • I'm probably bullshitting, but - shrooms needed more care through their fruiting, so we ended up with a mix of small and large grains that would feed thru cycleNairn
    • Sclerotia don't need that. they need more consistency. Again, I may very well be mis-remembering.Nairn
    • I can’t believe it was legal. So awesomeGnash
    • tbh, by the time the top photo was taken, we had two guys working in a 'laboratory' and a lot of the specific detail was beyond my kenNairn
    • Aye, Gnash - we were deluded by times. Immediately thereafter Labour clamped down on everything natural which inadvertanty led to the Spice epidemicNairn
    • Cool, just curious. I haven’t raised truffles before.

Hit me with an invite if anyone wants to discord
      scarabin
    • I’m not a part of any discord channel, what!? I’m asking if the two of you can answer questions for me.imbecile
    • Yeah, whaddya need to know?scarabin
    • awesomemoldero
    • Where do you buy spores, what containers do you use, what problems have you encountered? I have a closet I’ve been thinking about using 3-4 containers in.imbecile
    • Yum. Feeling ... hungry.

    • I’ve seen spores online for “research”. I’m sick of buying and want to microdose indefinitely.imbecile
    • r/sporetraders for spores. Just remember you’re buying them “for microscopy” only. Mason jars or bags for inoculation, then tubs for fruitingscarabin
    • Biggest problem you’ll run into is contamination. You need a sterile work space (look into building a flowhood). Sterilize your tools, etcscarabin
    • PF Tek is the usual route folks go http://www.fungifun.…scarabin
    • (Their first time)scarabin
    • Cool. This is why I wanted the discord. You post your experiences, I don’t make the same mistakes. :Dimbecile
    • Sterilisation is everything! Which should be so much easier an assumption, given 2020.
But it is a fucker. Buy a steam baby bottle steriliser, at least. 2ndhand

    • ...wow.garbage
    • Kits are an option. Just add spores https://www.midwestg…scarabin
    • Or just buy truffles from NL direct :)Nairn
    • Or just have a cup of Azores grown Broken Leaf tea and chill out? It’s enough for me.shapesalad
    • Mycology is a fun hobby in itself, you can enjoy your tea while growing your own oyster or chanterelles :)scarabin
    • I used the PF Tek back in 1997 in my freshman dorm. Tripped balls.monospaced
    • I find it easier just picking them, though your stuck seasonally. Nice collection NairnSellies
    • Who wants to get in touch with the gods ? https://tinyurl.com/…i_was
    • I miss the days when I could walk down to my local shop and buy them, never had a bad experience, need to try the microdosing thing now.fadein11
    • I also used PF tek last year despite not having proper tools, like pressure cooker. I managed to grow in my second attempt. First one contaminated in the jar.Beeswax
    • Now weather is getting cooler I'll try again but forgot how I did it. If there's a group invite me in.Beeswax
    • Liberty cap spawns on fields/plains areas where bigger animals such as cows and deer poops...islandbridge
    • If the soil is moist enough they will start pop around the time when the first night frost comes.islandbridge
    • I wish they grew wild here!scarabin
