Arctic methane leaks stir warming fears.
OSLO (Reuters) – Large amounts of a powerful greenhouse gas are bubbling up from a long-frozen seabed north of Siberia, raising fears of far bigger leaks that could stoke global warming, scientists said.

I think it is, just like when people were saying oh the PINK DOLLAR the PINK DOLLAR. Now its the GREEN DOLLAR they are chasing after, I saw this speech on TED where a guy was going on about the day when it clicked and the world started hitching onto the Green Dollar economy. Somewhere just after 9/11

Every person I've ever met who denies climate change also happens to be very opposed to taxes and government regulation.
This tells me one thing: they are basing their opinions on the politics of addressing it and not the science. They will never be convinced otherwise because all of their opinions of the world are based on political ideals, not factual evidence.
- Climate change hype is pushed by the same people who want to tax and regulate you, how's that strange?raf
- Actually, climate change is used directly to tax and regulate you.raf
- ...and this is regardless of whether or not climate changes are caused by humans.raf
- no single person is really being taxed and regulated its the large corporations and their dirty tech thats iseieio
- no wonder theres a shit load of denial propaganda out there.eieio
- So in other words the vast majority of real scientists fromall over the world you think are just trying to raise taxes...mmkeieio
- ....taxes...mmmmkeieio
- Why would anybody want to be taxed and regulated? They just want polluters to pay for their damage.joeth
- this is very true********

Climate change human link evidence 'stronger'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/scien…"What this study shows is that the evidence has strengthened for human influence on climate and we know that because we've looked at evidence across the climate system and what this shows very clearly is a consistent picture of a warming world," said Dr Stott.

Who cares if its a hoax or not? If green energy can add creativity, jobs, and growth to the economy, then let's stop fucking around and get down to business.

Growing low-oxygen zones in oceans worry scientists
WASHINGTON — Lower levels of oxygen in the Earth's oceans, particularly off the United States' Pacific Northwest coast, could be another sign of fundamental changes linked to global climate change, scientists say.

Who knows? But hoax or not, the legacy of the developing world spending billions on climate change could be clean air and oceans, the odd revolutionary product and the reinvention of industry and commerce.
But my money's on the French discovering a way to harness fusion. Or some mad bloke from Bolton inventing a kinetic engine.

True monoboy, only good can come from investing in clean, less destructive energy. The benefits would far out weigh the costs.

'International experts have made detailed studies of the growth rings of the Mt Read Huon Pines, both living and dead, and have pieced together a tree ring chronology of over 4000 years. Because the rings vary with the climate at the time, and particularly with temperature, they give a good indication of how the climate has varied over that time. Of interest in this record is the clear indication of climate warming since the 1960’s.'

Americans' Global Warming Concerns Continue to DropMultiple indicators show less concern, more feelings that global warming is exaggerated
http://www.gallup.com/poll/12656…- well then, climate change must be fake. science is determined by a vote! everyone knows this!spifflink

all that graph shows is how people are responding to propaganda, nothing to do with the reality of climate change. Obviously the denial BS has made a new insurgence in the last few years with Bush's corporate oil regime. It hasn't let up with Obama and his admin is just letting the issue fizzle out. People just think the same thing as whats on the news.
- can't argue with that********
- ARGUE PLEASE, you're boring me Jazeieio
- Obama is letting the issue fizzle out? TONS of stimulus money is going towards renewables.DrBombay
- look what happened at that last summit. everyone was looking at him for something and he stalled, intentionally, and NOTHING happenedeieio
- ... NOTHING happened.eieio
- one summit, the US is dumping billions into green tech. Sorry he can't save the world in a year.DrBombay
- its called stalling. The gov will dish money out like water, they obviously have little choice considering its a good investment anywayeieio
- investment anyway. Still doesn't chage the intent to prolong these deadlocks. MOre harm is being done, its typical stall and change the subject tacticeieio
- of governments to resist real change while rhetoric and money is saying something elseeieio
- If you notice money goes into tonnes of new 'green' tech yet no modern standards are being created.eieio
- What would you like me to do?DrBombay
- can't argue with that

denial of man-made global warming leading to apocalyptic conclusions isnt the same thing as denial of climate change. You would have to be a fool to deny climate change. Hell doesnt the third law of thermodynamics guarantee change or something. I personally dont buy into the extremes of man-made climate change. Especially when looking at a large timeline. The change is inevitable. The ice would melt if we were or werent here. Its simply just a natural occurence being manipulated by doomsayers for money and power under the guise of caring and promises it can stop climate change. Which is absurd. I am for green tech that is cost effective and works. Im against a new fake wallstreet market of carbon credits. A market like that wont help or solve a thing. It will merely create a political/corporate playground stifling normal healthy economics, and will only slow the progression of human evolution and technological advancements.
When ever i hear about man-made climate change they always seem to leave out the man. And if man is the single largest factor(which with time and population exponentially expanding, the man effect does become greater then more natural influences), then why not talk about population control. Man would be the root of the problem. Yet there are tax breaks and continuing incentives to have children. The helping of poorer nations just enough so that all they can do, or have the energy to do, is to reproduce. Lack of proper sex education and available birth control. Id rather see the man part changed then in hopes of making a $100k 70mpg hybrid using billions in funding.
- eieio0
deathboy the problem isn't the population its the technology and large industries.
- sigg0
Hopefully the death of the Hummer will solve global warming once and for all.
- ********0
yea population is a problem. Over population uses up limited resources faster. the using of those resources gives you all your man made gases that effect climate change. more people more pollution more consumption. all that its common sense. they named it MAN-made for a reason. those large industries are necessary to provide for the the large population. if pop growth is curbed then that would require less industry and less resources meaning less man made causes. we can always cross our fingers and hope for some new technology like a miracle that allows us to continue growing despite our limited resources and natural law that governs populations. and if that miracle doesnt come we can get and whine and blame god or whoever you expected to grant that miracle. so if man made climate change is truly a serious problem blame the man. you wont have positive change until you realize the obvious. but hey heres me crossing my fingers for miracle tech 100% clean climate change stopping fusion power.

Big Oil attacking fake "energy tax"
http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.or…The stock photo issue is overblown, but why the hell do we subsidize the dirtiest and most dangerous sources of energy? The biggest step we could take towards sustainability would be to cut them off and make them pay for their pollution. But nooooooo... that would be a "tax" on hardworking Americans.
