Watch the animated TV spot for Toyota’s Gundam-inspired car

[car tv commercials in Japan are sooo cool]
- That was ridiculous. Didn't understand a word of it... but still know it was ridiculous.Al_dizzle

That's right, power lines in anime.

Dragon Ball Z Abridged. Same show, less crap. And some 4th-wall breaking, and more adult humor.

As I've been sick this week I decided to marathon Attack on Titan.
It's garbage. Just garbage.
- Agree. I watched like 7 episodes and it never wanted to start making sense. I could tell it was not going to get better.sarahfailin
- It's really hard to understand and super drawn out. Good big monsters though.PhanLo
- I was everything I hate about anime taken to the next level, but then also really, really lazy animation, and no character growth.i_monk

I usually watch these a once or twice a year -
There's a certain glow with the lighting from this era of Anime - and you can practically smell cigarette smoke on the celluloid:WICKED CITY (sorry to the purists, this is a dubbed trailer)
Also in the same vein - alternate dimensional demonic battle type stuff:
DEMON CITY SHINJUKU - some of the background art was done by Kazuo Oga - he's famous for most of the Studio Ghibli works
And the director of both of these and a ton of other historically epic anime films, Yoshiaki Kawajiri, also did shorts - namely RUNNING MAN from the NEO TOKYO collection (Shown in the states on Liquid Television):
RUNNING MAN (I can't find a good link, but this "LORN" music video is a pretty cool cut --- however - do try to find the original if you haven't had the pleasure - it's mind-blowing - literally.

Maikel recently-ish brought this magnificent thing to my attention (which includes the addition of Shinichirō Watanabe of Cowboy Bebop on staff, as well as the phenomenal Yoko Kanno handling the music).
It's every bit as epic as 'Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?', and Watanabe's style can be clearly detected, even if he was co-directing with Shōji Kawamori. Absolutely stellar.
I've also been binging this. It's a bit 'Harry Potter meets Masterchef/Hell's Kitchen'. Yeah it's fomulaic, yeah it's very ecchi and fanservice-y, but it's good fun. Light and humourous.
