So from Canada to the states you are allow to carry purse or murse on the plane. Laptop bag and back pack has to be checked in. Laptop sleeve is ok otherwise you will have to carry lap top by hand. Been sitting 2 hrs waiting to get on the plane cuz every thing has been delayed

if you can't have fun in vegas you can't have fun. there isn't anything new i can tell you that others haven't already said. going to freemont street is a great start to the night and a whole lot cheaper than the main strip. 5 beers and a shot of jack came out to be $17 at one of the casinos on the corner in the photo above (the one on the right side corner). on the strip that would easily run you $45.
the barbary coast's name has changed now but it still has pretty inexpensive drinks. it used to be that you could order an absolute and redbull for $4, AND they let you keep the remaining can of redbull that wouldn't fit into the glass. at any other casino on the strip that's about an $11 drink and you don't even get to keep what's left in the can of redbull.
also, everytime i've gone to vegas i've had people offer me coke and on more than one occasion have almost gotten killed over people wanting to buy it off of me. i tell them i'm not a dealer and don't do drugs and they freak out because i won't sell to them. i must look like i'm a huge coke head... which is probably a very bad thing.

All in all, I have been in January, and its pretty dead, so no horrible shoulder to shoulder crowds. Makes getting around very enjoyable. And that was before the down turn. But there is no street life this time of year. Street performers etc or even the resort features may not run like the fountains outside the Bellagio (if you care).
As a Canadian, you can laugh at the natives wearing winter garb, jackets, gloves and hats in +10 or 15 celcius. I was in a t-shirt and shorts. :)

Finally back from the CES 2010
I almost went crazy couldn't find any free internet anywhere for 5 days. I apologize if i sound a bit racist but those mexican groups on the street handing out fliers are really annoying!
the show was awesome by the way. Every major electronic brands you can think of were there.

I was there one NYE playing a show with a couple of recess records bands - crazy night. people started jumping the small fences and rushing the street, cops ended up saying 'fuck it' and stopped trying to keep people back. had to piss in a bush - cell phone signals were jammed - hard to walk anywhere. other than that, it was a pretty good time.
