Well, the best designers only use a handful. And while clients don't care and the public doesn't know, they sense in a heartbeat the diligent crafting of good work by great firms for clients who know that good design does indeed sell. Show a client a BMW or Nike ad in a magazine laying around. Then turn to any poorly designed (type choice being a critical component) ad and they get it in a heartbeat. They sense the impression of Mom and Pop fly by night vs. a stalwart business they can trust.
- wow talking about a huuuuge budget difference, eh?janne76
- nike != next door painting companyjanne76
- Perhaps you could print that whole statement on a T-shirt, typo?pylon
- I see great designers to Nike quality work every day for small businesses. Money has nothing to do with it. The talent of the person pushing around the pixels does.typographyshop
- person pushing the pixels around is what matters.typographyshop

I am working on a typeface tshirt that lets you choose your own message and font each day depending on your mood.
It uses liquid crystal technology printed onto the cotton tshirts.
You plug in a usb mini-keyboard to type your message and select your fonts each time you wear the shirt.I am of course, lying.

Well, you should build it. Someone will soon enough.

I really dig your AA shirts, though the San Serif one reminds me a bit of the American Apparel Helvetica shirts they did with several letters.
What is that second face? Is that an old ITC cut?
- someone has said this before but I have no idea what they were talking about.. even went in to AA last week andneue75_bold
- didn't see anything similar...
The second one is ITC Grouch..neue75_bold - although my posters have been floating around the web for over a year so AA might have ripped me ;)neue75_bold
- I wouldn't put it past them. Here in Philly we have Urban Outfitters who are so legendary for stealing from designers that someone launched a site called Urban Counterfeiters. I'll try and fnd the American Apparel shirt.typographyshop

Well, he was wearing another design from another site I run. It was a ton of work removing it. We're long overdue for a photoshoot.
Any willing models in the Philadelphia area?

Found the American Apparel version on a group I run at flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fab…

Ah yes, Grouch. I'm old enough to have set that on a typositor. These shirts are really sweet. I'm going to show these to a few people. These could be good for our site.
Write me at with a couple higher res images if you could. We also want to offer posters soon, so maybe that format could work too.

this whole "typography is the end all, be all of design" needs to stop.

We've talked about putting out a shirt that says something to that effect. Typographic Hell. With those faces named below.typographyshop - a t-shirt that says just that with the faces you mentioned listed below.typographyshop

Thanks for the compliments. Type of zipper. It's a full length hidden zipper with a metal pull. The zipper appears not to be metal if that's what you're asking.
My printer says these are the best hoodies he's seen in years.
