Without knowing anything about your client or the tone of the piece, it's hard to say what's best. But from a purely aesthetic standpoint, Frutiger works with either Charter or Sabon. I wouldn't recommend using Mrs. Eaves for anything besides wedding invitations. And even then, I personally wouldn't use it when I've got a functioning version of Baskerville right here.

to keep it simple try using a face that has both a sans and serif, like Freight for example.. otherwise, you seem to be using some of my least favorite fonts together [except Sabon] so I can't really comment on what you have done...
- surely you can dig deeper, do better than Frutiger, ffs...neue75_bold

A couple of other nice meta-families:

Some of Klim's typefaces come to mind, such as National and Newzald which pair beautifully. Same with H&FJ—e.g., Gotham + Chronicle or Mercury.

Eek, dude, ok... When you combine typefaces it is really important that they fit proportionally. For example, look at your first choice (Meta/Mrs Eaves): Like, dude, they don't even look like you used the same size because the proportions are so different. It would probably really help you out a lot to look at them side by side instead of stacked so you can see how the cap and x-heights line up.
- yes, didn't do that yet. still looking for a good pair

frutiger and sabon, are my two favs of all time. (apart from my own work of course) Are you looking for Sans in headline, and Serif in text? serifs are the way forward... good luck
