I'm starting to put together a personal library of css (multi-level navigation, calendar etc...) snippets and jquery plugins (accordians, sliders, charts, validation etc...) that I know work and are easily customizable.
Problem is there are tons to choose from out there and I can't experiment with all of them. If you have a favorites post them.
Thanks

The css used in jquery UI seems a bit overkill and a pain to customize. I may be wrong but the one off plug-ins usually seem to allow you to stick with your naming conventions with out having to change a lot on the js side.

I think you're missing the point. jQueryUI is creating the markup and assigning CSS classes which the browser can interpret and render faster than it's Javascript engine can process and apply the rules; which would THEN use the rendering engine to interpret and render the elements. What's wrong with taking out the middle man?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnddddd...
What's the point of downloading a giant collection of jQuery plugins when the page loads if the developer is only going to be using a few of them?A community project to make a 'roll your own' library builder would be better. That way you'd only get what you need, and it'd be ready to use straight away.
Nice thought though.

I understand jquery's purpose and I do appreciate it's advantages; the issue I'm having is it only includes about half the things I would want to use so I would still be bringing in external plugins, Also, I have found many of it's functions are done better by others. As far as downloading a giant library I would only be compiling the plugins I used for each site. Whether it 3 or 30 plugins that's all I would compile.
So again if you could post your favorites it would be appreciated.

jQuery Tools has some nice effects. And you can download just one or all of them, as you need them:
