I've just updated my site using Cargo Collective and I've add some new work too. http://work.onnoknuvers.com

Apparently Cargo's got some temp server problems at the moment - that could be why your thumbs aren't showing.

Yep I only got one thumbnail too. Also the contact arrow seems to be pointing to somewhere completely irrelevant to contacting you. I'd stick with the standard --> or nothing at all

Glad you like the gifs utopian.
There was some issues with Cargo's server yesterday that effected images but it seems to be working now.

nice work.

anyone on carg still?
I'm working with a client who has 5 websites on carg and...the global price is just scary!
so the client pays:
- oey0
(can't write complete name?)
66$/year - per site
14$/year - per domain(I don't have a clue how is the hosting allocated, I mean I know where but I don't have access to it cause the client used iwantmy and connected it to carg*...is it hosted in carg*?)
anyway, that's like:
400$/year - total
if the client uses a hosting and uses squares for example:
70$/year - hosting for 6 domains
14$/year - per domain
11$/year - per site in squares195$/year - total
if the client uses wp then it's like:
140$/year for everything
plus client is managing all sites independently till now.
so I asked if they were could considering changing to some other CMS.
It would be more work, take longer it would cost a certain amount of money to implement.
i could really not connect to sftp to try developer mode so I had to write a couple of messages about different issues to support.
I'm curious with what comes out.
is carg* really that great?
what about the prices?thoughts?
- oey0
but the prices, everywhere I read that the c collective is cheaper than other platforms but I can't understand how...

Squarespace is 11$/month, not year..
- fuck me you're right, after 11 hours in front of the computer working with someone by my side...fuck!oey
- so he new cargo is 99$ a year and squarespace is 132$ a year.oey
- thanks for the correction! and what's your opinion on this?oey
- I love Squarespace. I'm a Motion Designer so, web design isn't something I'm showcasing. I recently changed my template. I took me about 10-15 minutes.CyBrainX

carg_collective...what a utterly piece of shit.
I couldn't do better but from the use side...I'm pulling my hair here after 4 days of work.
client thinks is super but doesn't even understand the basics,,,- where is the domain hosted?
- no databank access...no myphp...
- no backup tool
- no chat
- no telephone
- not answering to messages in support for 4 days
- HTML and CSS does it make sense to anyone else
- things are happening for no reason
- client can login with passwords I can't
- all this and it costs 66$ or 99$ depending on which version
- no github or whatever anywhere to get helphave written to support to ask about multiple site management and next day had multiple site activated?!
they didn't even reply!!!
wtf?!
this is clearly not user friendly, not clean and open, no freedom over own files and data, etc...
can someone please give some input?
I'm losing my patience here!- I wouldn' come up with a better software, that's trueoey

A friend of mine asked me to make him a website for his surfboard business.
I work primarily with WordPress.
But I suggested Wix and Squarespace as well because maybe after it's done he can manage the website himself and take it further like eCommerce. And the learning curve in these two is way easier.I've sent him some Links to compare the tools and some links with pros and cons.
He came back a week later and asked me if I know Persona and C*rgo C*llective.
I just answered that if he wants C*rgo he will need to look for somebody else.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- Send him my way - I’ll do itSlashPeckham
- Wix? NoooooooooOBBTKN
- Oh no. No no no. Never Wix.Continuity
- I know, but if he doesn't want to pay for maintenance and wants to add stuff himself then...oey_oey
- why not cargo? its way better then wix if you ask me.milfhunter
- @Slash why? do you find it good?oey_oey
- Krop is the way to go.palimpsest
- @milfhunter is it? I really don't know, last time I used cargo it was a nightmareoey_oey
- look that the previous post from 4 years ago. has evolved that much? Most reviews that I've read aren't very goodoey_oey
- he wants to use Persona for his business.oey_oey
- @oey_oey its definitely not great but its the same struggle with every do it yourself website builder.milfhunter
- Best experience i had with templates was going for a wordpress template on themeforest. Told them you can't change anything besides the content.milfhunter
- lol @ KropContinuity
- LOL @ milfhunter..."you can't change anything"oey_oey
- I know it's the same struggle but that's why I prefer WordPress. It's more work to learn, to build, and to do maintenance but the possibilities are endlessoey_oey
- Will work for cash..SlashPeckham
- cargo is great. easy to maintain, and the commerce upgrade is super easy.doesnotexist
