I doubt that the real reason is to look for water. Its the U.S.A. we're talking about here,

he has a point dbloc. There's a wide variety of large corporations with a huge interest in mineral resources on the moon besides water. They basically use NASA to pursue things for them and most are from the US. NASA's always been two faced like that, the first manned space missions were supposed to be about human experiments in orbit but all they did was spy on the Russians.
