I've been seeing more and more producers/dj's/bands using this as their music platform. I'm pretty impressed with the service and have been considering putting my own music on it as well.
really diggin the waveform preview and at the moment, this guys stuff:

Do you guys think they run into legal issues in terms of hosting mixes? Strictly speaking, it seems illegal, although probably doesn't matter since artists involved probably wouldn't object.

they have it all worked out... if theres a problem with some track you can make an objection.... or you can also have private tracks and share with just one person... so then what's really illegal by the way???
- sublocked0
glad it's getting some attention.
i love soundcloud. http://soundcloud.com/cynic

Well, technically with something like a DJ mix you *should* get the permission of the artists whose tracks you are putting in your mix and be paying them royalties...personally I'm not in favor of onerous copyright though, and I think when you have artists who are not major label more likely they'd be happy for the exposure.
- Similar thing with remixes...it's kind of a gray area but depends more on the consent of the community in this case I thinkukit

i use both for completely different reasons... how does soundcloud replace your last.fm?
- bekannt0
i think lately i have been enjoying more listening to dj sets and live acts rather than loose tracks and suggestions and similar artists shit... and also the UI works much more better and easy to use not with so much stuff...
