Flash or HTML?

We have a portfolio site that was built in Flash a year ago. Now we're noticing the trend towards clean HTML sites (the Indexhibit / blog format).
We're now working on an HTML folio site: www.pollenlondon.com/new (the old site is still live at www.pollenlondon.com.
Does anyone have any feedback on our new design and can you recommend other good HTML / blog style folio sites?
The best we have found are:
www.dixonbaxi.com
www.pokelondon.com
www.anti-ink.con

I have a hunch that all-flash sites get far fewer repeat visitors than clean HTML sites, but I'd love to know if anyone has real stats on this...
I usually go to all-flash sites once or twice by myself, or only when I want to show somebody something...

I like your new website better, but not because it's html. In fact, I wouldn't mind it being flash, because you could control the look of the type more, the nav wouldn't jump around and could be more fluid. Aside from SEO, I think some of this flash hating is another trend/fad
- Thanks mate. You could be right about the Flash hating but it is good to be able to view the site on an iPhone or blackberry. Clients often do this on the way to meetings.pollen
- I'll give you that. But why would you look at a portfolio site on an iphone.Rand
- It's not (only) a trend. It's progress as far as accessibility and semantics are concerned. :)doctor
- you can have both if you do it properlyShaney

HTML is the realness.

Don't think it matters does it really, there is a host of accessibility issues you have to be aware of with flash that's it really, my preference is html site with flash elements doing all the animated bits that you can't do with anything else.
With your site though the issue is that the old one is nice, but the new one is really slick, well done. Classy

Not meaning to be a fucking ass, but didn't you notice the "trend towards clean HTML sites (the Indexhibit / blog format)" a year ago when you did the Flash one?

If you are going to use Flash, take advantage of it, otherwise why bother?
Personally, I am getting tired of the boring Wordpress-looking huge grid sites, they are all looking the same.
For someone, that is fine, but for a design firm I'd expect something that doesn't look like a template or generic.

- I know what you mean. The are some good ones though! Winkreative and http://www.area17.co… are excellent sites.pollen

Some are quite nice, really, but not exactly inspiring or what would get a client interested in hiring your company, imho.
