You people don't know where to shop.

it's true. Avoid foxtons and black cat like the plague.
to be fair they're all cunts.

NW5, kentish town, central, good pubs and shops, overland and underground station, close to hampstead, soho, camden. Lived there for 7 years but now live in Canada. If I go back I will go back to Ktown.
http://maps.google.com/maps?clie…- I too loved Kentish Town. It's quite pricey now though.max_prophet

I know two people that went for an interview at foxtons, one of them said that he sat down in the guys office, who then picked up a pen from the table and said "Sell me this pen".
My friend said he simply stared at him, stood up and left.

Use Moveflat - seems good. I have been looking for the past couple of week - on my 7th/8th/9th views tomoz! hsssss!
East - good area is Stoke Newington - best greenest part of east. That's where most of my views are at the moment - and Hackney (london fields / broadway market) are pretty nice - the problem is, a road looks scummy - the next road looks lovely so its a case of streetview and hit and hope.1000 for a 1 bed flat is a bit tight - dont forget youll have a couple of 150-200 bills on top.
The large rooms ive been viewing are 400-550 (exc bills - approx 70)
yeah - if anyone knows any east side rooms going.. give me a holler

Bethnal Green.
Lived there for 6 years and love it. Bit rough around the edges but you can walk to the City, Shoreditch, Brick Lane etc. Easy cycle commute to central and its got tube lines.

avoid brick lane - great if youre a tourist, fookin awful after a few years and full of kunts. the whole place is full of trendies, i live around here and its just annoying now. same for dalston. some good bars though in the area. i fyou want to live around here i'd probably go a bit further out east, maybe around victoria park though not sure if thats cheap, worth a look anyway

ok hackney (stoke newington, bethnal green, London fields) is north east. Definitely the coolest, arty farty folk. A bit dodgy and dirty, but very funky. BUT there are no tubes, and for a newcomer that can make live VERY tricky.
South london is nice and pleasant, but not much culture to it. Just normal folks who are usually in IT or business of some sort.
West london is just posh through and though
North London (camden, islington) is kinda funky and a LOT cheaper.. nice transport!!! I've tried moving east, but seem to always end up in archway or kentish town as its a nice, leafy area that's cheap. And it's close to Camden where there's a lot going on
