I'm looking for some more modern methodologies and/or outlets to pass along to a co-worker. I'm afraid she is quickly becoming irrelevant, as her PR efforts on behalf of our company are falling short time and time again.
I think currently her repertoire is limited to local newspapers, and MarketingProfs.com.
She's pretty non-tech savvy, and I'd like to try to help her keep her job, because she's a really smart gal, she's just out of the loop.
Any advice?

online, there's the usual: viral, social networks, edm's, you name it. offline, there's anything from sponsorship, profile work for cheap, public art, functions, etc etc etc. like anything it depends on the company you work for and what services you're offering.

the thing to ask, is does she want to stay ion PR? it seems odd that she's non-tech savvy, i mean certainly she's not expected to actually bang out an electronic campaign but she should be aware of the options and have a list of companies to deliver?
also, this site has been referred to me a few times so might be worth a look?

yeah, i'd recommend finding some decent books on amazon as well as a few decent sites to subscribe to. being non-tech aware is certainly not a good place to be but if she's smart like you say then it won't take too long to get her head around it and having the years of experience she has is only a plus.
this first book i'm looking at getting, probably more specific than you're after but you never know:

i'll stop now, but also, tell her to buy herself an ipod or similar and start subscribing to some PR podcasts, there's some amazing views and info going for free through the itunes podcasts section. the key (as we all know in this media age) is that it's all just opinion and what is considered a good or bad idea can suddenly become the next best or worst thing so the more ideas – and more importantly case studies and experiences – are a great way to learn.
