I'm going there for two days? Any info on food and clubs?
A bunch of good stuff. Are you coming for a weekend?
When are you coming here. Lots of good summer beers and summer patio joints to see/hang.
Mosquitos the size of Red-tailed Hawks, FFS!! Bring a catcher's mitt to swat at them!
Am I missing something? Are you trying to cover the entire state in two days? Where in Minnesota specifically? Minneapolis?
What kinds of food do you like? what sort of music do you like?
answer these, and we mpls people can help you out :)
yes...MPLS can help you.
One vote for True Thai and The Bulldog. They usually have an expensive, but extensive beer menu. Especially the one on Lyndale. They even have some good Belgians on tap!
If you're willing to travel to Saint Paul (which is a stones throw from MPLS), hit up the Blue Door at the corner of Fairview and Selby. Great bar food and (small but) awesome beer selection.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
http://www.vita.mn is a good resource for events, otherwise there's just tons of good places for food and drink. Around where you're staying is Town Hall Brewery (http://www.townhallbrewery.com... Grumpy's Bar (http://www.chow.com/places/227... and (sorta nearby) the Weisman Art Museum (http://www.weisman.umn.edu). A quick walk or taxi drive would take you to the Walker (http://www.walkerart.org), Joe's garage (good rooftop patio http://www.joes-garage.com), or a ton of other downtowny restaurants. Take a taxi over to NE mpls for some fun shitty bars (http://www.psychosuzis.com, http://www.331.mn, or other really close, locals-only places... complete with the WTF looks by the normal patrons when you walk in).
