yeah, I just swapped to Safari and like it. Haven't missed the addons yet. Only thing is the quick find in address bar.

Mine may boot slower as well, I haven't noticed, but I think it's a little faster for browsing pages, especially javascript.

agreed. The builds of FF seem to be getting worse and worse while safari seems to be getting better and better. FF is nice regarding addons and what not, but I am going back to safari as a primary browser.

It's a known problem. I read on the Firefox support thingamajig there's a fix in the works.

All the "solutions" they provide in that thread don't help me though.

it still takes ages to start up

I gotta say — FF 3.5 on the Mac is waaaaaaay speedier than 3.0.

FF 3.5.1, available now, apparently addresses the slow startup problem.

very slow for me too, ditched it after being loyal for a long time, for what ukit says above. Much faster

3.5 seems a bit faster to me

Does anyone else have high memory usage in FF 3.0. I'm talking 428 Mb of memory. I think the culprit is Google Gears, but FF has always been known for being a memory hog. Hopefully they can learn a thing or two about Chrome.

I'm using Chrome now for the most part..
- The only thing that keeps me using FF is the Delicious addon for Firefox.kgvs72

w00t ff's advice is to clean your temporary IE internet files? i thought ff used a different temporary file structure?
if this is the case then they should just say "download ccleaner" ?

My startup time was beginning to bother me yesterday, so I deleted my entire browsing history, so there's (much) less for FF to index when it boots up. It's a shame I'm so impatient, as it's really a very good feature.

Anyways, Firefox is slowing down since a couple months. Chrome is a serious competitor, he's fast as hell.
