WTF does Firefox take so long to start up? I only have a couple of addons and not many fonts loaded but from the time it takes for me to click the logo for the first time to the time it actually opens my home page, I could go and buy some freaking lunch!
Anyone else experience this?
FF3.5 on Win7 BTW.

BB, just cause something is new/newer, doesn't mean its better.

I think companies should put at least as much weight in speed/ performance as features when they are developing software. Having to deal with bloated software that wastes your time is fucking stupid.

this explains it, it's how they're generating random numbers...

"a new milestone in browsing"
...we're now 2x slower. that is new. lol.

yeah, I just swapped to Safari and like it. Haven't missed the addons yet. Only thing is the quick find in address bar.

Mine may boot slower as well, I haven't noticed, but I think it's a little faster for browsing pages, especially javascript.

agreed. The builds of FF seem to be getting worse and worse while safari seems to be getting better and better. FF is nice regarding addons and what not, but I am going back to safari as a primary browser.

It's a known problem. I read on the Firefox support thingamajig there's a fix in the works.

All the "solutions" they provide in that thread don't help me though.

it still takes ages to start up

I gotta say — FF 3.5 on the Mac is waaaaaaay speedier than 3.0.

very slow for me too, ditched it after being loyal for a long time, for what ukit says above. Much faster

I'm using Chrome now for the most part..
- The only thing that keeps me using FF is the Delicious addon for Firefox.kgvs72

w00t ff's advice is to clean your temporary IE internet files? i thought ff used a different temporary file structure?
if this is the case then they should just say "download ccleaner" ?
