So I've got these Sennheiser HD 280 pro headphones, and I really like the sound. But they squeeze my head like a motherfucker! And I don't even have a fat head! After about an hour, they've become too uncomfortable for listening.
What to do?

Send me the headphones.

i'd suggest getting a pair of earbuds. i have the denon AH-C351 and they are really comfortable and sound good. not as good as your Sennheiser's of course, but hey...beggars can't be choosers :)

man up, and start worrying about coding for ie6 correctly

i have a strange head and ears, so i got some in-ear phones custom molded to my ears and they are fucking christ on a motorbike awesome. more than most people want to spend on headphones though.

I had those bose in ear — 100euro, phish, hurt like hell, switched back to original apple ones..
but i'm talkink about in ears here

if you do go earbuds, do not go sony. i went through two pairs of those shitty things in like 4 months. they would short out all the time when i was running, and eventually one earbud goes completely dead.

The only headphones you ever need to buy are Sony MDR-V6's. Very comfy and excellent sound. They've been the standard since the 80's.
- this is true unless you are on the move. i have a pair but they sit on my decks. there ain't a chance in hell that i would wear 'em out.lvl_13

have the same exact pair, they're awesome and i initially felt the same way you do. the thing is, the more you wear them the softer the ear pads become. keep wearing them, they'll get better. good luck!
- how long did it take? hopefully less than month? the pain can be annoying!
pixellette - don't really remember, i got them like 3 years ago. take so advil before you wear them or something.oblib
- same here. had them over a year and they only became snug recently.danthon

Fix the headphones so that they are permanently 2" wider than required. Build a small 'tower' on top of your head, using hairgrips to keep it in place. Balance the bridge of the headphones on that tower and as long as you keep fairly still the earpieces should project the music directly into your ears but without crushing your head.
^ This is Daniel Eatock's advice on his website. I haven't yet tried it but it sounds like it could work.

I have had a couple pair of these and they are really comfortable. Great cord length and volume control with easy access. Cheap too and sound really good.
