So I've decided I need some two wheeled transportation but I don't feel like spending a bunch of money on a bike just to have it stolen.
I remember watching something about the credit crunch blah blah blah and there was a shop in soho that made what they called "pub bikes" - decent quality bikes that were a bit beat up and not too expensive but I don;t remember the name of the shop.
Does anyone have any good used bike shop recommendations in the city?

Just steal one, everyone else does it.

All I know is, don't go to Brick Lane to get one, lest you want to propagate the negative karma cycle of crackfuck bike thieving.

Do your company do the "Cycle to work" scheme?

Yeah, a legit bike would be better. I don't think I'd have a right to be mad if I knowingly bought a stolen bike and then 2 weeks later it was stolen... I gues if I tought of it as "renting" then it would be OK.
I'm contract/freelance so I talked it over with myself and we decided that we were not going to offer the Cycle to Work scheme to our employees - that is to say, me.

hom much do you think it would cost to send you my 1965 red huffy over there? maybe i can just bring it on the plane with me in Sept. when we come and visit you :)
on second thought, you don't want that pile anyway. it would be quicker just to walk to places then to ride on cement tires it currently has.

does your local police headquarters have the quarterly sales of uncollected stolen bikes?

thanks buddies. I should have said that yesterday, but in all honesty I got busy and forgot about this thread.
