From what I here they want a 5% pay rise and a guarantee that there will be no redundancies.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/200…If this is true then fuck you RMT you selfish bunch of twats.

Isn't their average wage about £35k? For pressing a big green and a big red button? Fuck off!!!
- Wolfboy0
bunch of cunts the lot of them.
This is the same group of people that went on strike a couple of years back because one of their fellow drivers had been sacked when found drunk on the job.
Yeah, they downed tools because it was 'wrong' to sack him.

British workers for British jobs they say, sack the fucking lot of 'em and get some Poles in!
- Kidswift0
I know it's fucking shit they don't deserve an increase at all. 35K is a fucking good pay packet for what their job entails - and if they get one all they will do is hike the prices up again and we will be the ones that pick up the slack. I wish everyone would protest against the strike and say well if your going to strike then we won't use the tubes for a week after they come back on. I would be great to see how quickly they value just having jobs in a recession after that happens....
- +1 they take advantage of the fact Londons transport network is a joke.fatbot

"A station superviser earns £35,000-£39,000, while a tube driver's starting salary is just over £40,000, according to TfL, and a station assistant can start on £29,000."
- That's a fucking good salary in any city.calculator
- That a fucking Joke, most of them are Brain dead, and the other half cannot speak English.roundabout

That is real socialism. All city being terrorized by a small group of people who control tube workers.
- desmo0
anybody up for a switch in careers?
- Bluejam0
the roads are right 'ole mess today, it's like a city sized carpark out there
- byname0
and this lovely rain :)

It's a fucking shitty job to do, I wouldn't do it for 35K.
Plus there must be more to it than pushing a big green button otherwise they wouldn't be fired for making reckless decisions. The hours they do, never seeing daylight, never seeing their family, often not seeing weekends... it's hard to feel envious towards them.
The problem is the whole underground system is a money hemorrhage, owned by too many companies.
- moth0
It's about time they were all fucking fired and people more deserving given the job. Bob Crow's a fucking crock. They're going to garner no sympathy demanding 5%.
RMT should be outlawed, or it's members sacked.
Just remember to vote Tory and you'll see it done!
- moth0
"We will not be bullied into accepting that our members should be forced to pay for an economic crisis that was cooked up by the bankers and the politicians."
Oh boo hoo. Like the rest of the country doesn't just have to suck it up.
- thelukeandrews0
Did you see what the deal breaker was? they refused to give 2 guys their jobs back.
One had opened the doors on the wrong side of the tube. Thats actually really bad as a lot of people are leaning against them!! And he'd been lying about a bunch of stuff.
The second guy WAS CAUGHT STEALING!!!!
FFS the justice system really needs a "common sense" law that can override human rights etc from time to time. I mean what about my human fucking rights? I was nearly killed by a frustrated motorist while cycling in today. And millions of people are struggling in the rain.
There must be something we can do other than complain bitterly!!!!
- "human rights" are the problem. In the EU extortion in the shape of strike is a "right",raf

I find this thread quite amusing.
In Italy when the transportation workers go on strike (it happens at least once every 2 months) there are some "safe-time windows" (8 - 9) and (17-18) where the service is guaranteed.

I propose a designer's strike – who's with me?
- desmo0
HAHA designers strike. thats brilliant!
- fiesta0
Lazy fuckers if they didn't want to be paid that much they shouldn't have become tube drivers
- Autokern0
"Our newspaper today is set in Arial because our design dept was on strike yesterday. Sorry for the inconvenience"
