I like threadless, I still like the concept and it's well organised and the quality of the tees is significantly better than a lot of places.
Sure, some of the entries are a bit hit and miss but I think that's part of the charm because it's still user submission based.
I assume most of the people who are saying it's a bit passe now are just doing so primarily because they've got bigger and a bit more mainstream?

The only tee i've ever bought from Threadless was the Prate one when Lentil (i knew her as Lentil - real name Jemma Gura at the time) did one of the early Threadless designs.
Back in the day like Differenz said, when it was good designers and illustrators who designed these tees and other designers knew you were "in with the in crowd" if they saw you with one on.
Nowadays its everyman and his dog posting up pish to be voted on.Theres http://www.teetonic.com which is a scottish rip off of threadless

I liked Threadless when only a handful of people know them and when they used to used overweight folks to model their shirts. They kinda lost that lo-fi, DIY approach to things...just my 2 pence.

there is some okay stuff on there. i own a bunch of threadless shirts, and honestly most of them were bought when they have their $5 and $10 sale. I mean you can't even get a fucking white hanes t for $5 that fits as well as (most) threadless garb, let alone a colored plain t.
i will keep buying them as long as they have their $5 sales. most of the time i don't even give a shit what is printed on them. i usually just pick them out by color anyway...it's justa shirt. a $5 shirt. not a statement.
