- Just downloaded 4 of the new episodes - 3 day week this week, so i'll kick back on Thurs/Fri with the Bluray set and marathon the whole fucking shebang.face_melter
- Where??! Do I have to have Showtime?formed
- The parts 1 and 2 alone feel like a movie; It's definitely memorable though it does take some warming up. The new approach is hopefully going to pay off.evilpeacock
- This blew my mind like nothing I've seen in years. It's overwhelming. The shear spectacle of it made me say wow about 100 times. I'll need to watch it again.CyBrainX
- This could have easily coasted on nostalgia for the old show so it's interesting that Lynch took it in a different direction.yuekit
- It's rare that you see a sequel or reboot that has its own vision, let alone all episodes directed by the creator (and also did soundtrack).yuekit

4 episodes already? yass.
Not sure if watch all today though...
- ernexbcn1
Wow that 1st episode! and I'm reading the rest are even crazier.
- SteveJobs3
So good. Really wasn't sure what to expect. The pacing is tedious at times but the show dishes out plenty of nostalgia with the return of several cast members and references to the original series without overstaying its welcome.
Btw, if you watch the credits till the end this first episode is referred to as a motion picture.
- OP313
I'm really enjoying it. Whatever that black thing was in the holding cell freaked me out! ha. Love all the unexplained weirdness.
- renderedred1
Episode 1. WOW! Way, way better than I expected. So well done from any angle. It's Twin Peaks time all over again.
P.S. I miss Darya already. COTD material.

- Yep, pretty much a young Julee Cruise (but hotter).
This song really was a perfect fit for the ending.SteveJobs - Great song!yuekit

So fucking good. Worth the 10+ years (though probably 15!) years of waiting.
Loved the cameos, loved the dialogue, loved the style and directing sensibility. Can't shack this feeling this is Lynch's good bye project.
So good. For me as this stuff is going till September it's positive sign that not all the world is going to pot.
@Bluejam - it was incredible projected on a 2k screen ;-)
- nice!
haven't seen it yet,
reading this though..
https://www.amazon.c…Bluejam - Flicked through this - it was what I sort of theorize it was "based" on. Really want to read when I get a change.mugwart
- nice!

Do you have to know the story from the orignal series to follow this one?
I think I watched the original as a 10 yo kid, dont remember shit
- As long you know that Laura Palmer is actually the Log Lady, you'll be fine.nb
- Yeah im lostdrgs
- just learned the new series is actually season 3drgs
- It's David Lynch, you won't be able to follow it even if you have watched the entire series :)yuekit
- ^ ;-) really though, I have never had a problem following his work...I am strange thoughmugwart
- for me the first 2 seasons are very relevant when watching this one. i'm sure more references will come as old character emerge.renderedred
- just the log lady is very important. for example.renderedred
- fuck you all, I've been trying to watch the old one but can't seem to quite get through it, now you motherfuckers spoiled it! lol_niko
- sorry man! :)renderedred

Through the 4th episode, weird and creative as lynch gets :) loving the effects (even cheesy) and surprising cameos etc.
And this is interesting and relevant. Might it be that the characters talked and acted backwards then reversed the shots and adr just like this?
- don't want to be a buzz killer but here is an entire movie from the 80 where the characers talk and act backwards: http://www.imdb.com/…sted
- ^ i'll check it out thxhelloeatbreathedrive

Forgot to add -- been loving David Lynch's piss taking of Film culture. The guy with a massive phone, the stupid basic computer screens UI's.
The terrible windows surface product placement where the comp is beyond dodgie (aka they have didnt bother to roto back in his fingers as he types).
Then agent Coopers morphing and transformation are really well done.
Love it.

- Dat bolo tie. This actually works.SteveJobs
- if you're going to do something - at least do it well. No smooth loop?!microkorg

Lynch received a 5-minute standing ovation at Cannes.
