^Thank-god, I couldn't stand another team winning in Canada besides the Leafs. Never hear the end of it.
If another Canadian team were to win, I'd rather it be Edmonton. They annoy me the least and are more of a hockey city than Vancouver. (I realize the Leafs are probably twice as annoying to everyone in Canada, who isn't a fan.)
- Sens fans are pretty good, to be honest. People may hate them, but they are less annoying than Leafs and Habs fansjuhls

^agreed. Vancouver fans a notoriusly fair weather. I'm a Oilers/Flames fan first but will cheer for ANY Canadian team - even the Leafs

Canucks gave a clinic on how to throw away a series.

I honestly think the Canucks weren't as good as Chicago. They're a decent team with an oustanding goalie, who unfortunately couldn't win the game they needed him to.
For Luongo to let in 7 goals isn't the norm. 5 goals should have won them this game, but give credit to a young Hawk's team who never gave up.
- Talent wise, Chicago is deeper, is what I meant.Andrew_D

Good Night Washington! Awesome series!

Awesome series?! You mean AWFUL series?
Pittsburgh got all the the clutch calls at all the clutch times.I hope if not in the next round...next year...teams wise up and just destroy the Penguins. Take the penalties if you have to, but hopefully even the playing field.

it was an awesome serie, that last game was just not like the rest of it

I really like how respectful the Washington fans are and the team for working so hard to get far into the playoffs, but obviously they were outworked by the Pens. Both teams put up a good fight.
Crosby still annoys me (shave that damn faux-mustache off immediately), but I'm glad he is Canadian :)
It's one of those weird things where I don't even have a good reason to not like him, and I know he's an amazing player and he alone can change a game/series. I think I prefer people who start off mature and composed, and he was so young and inexperienced when he began. Had so much responsibility. I'm looking forward to the Olympics and seeing what they do with him.
- It's not even that I don't like him. I'm more "meh" about him.juhls
- I wanted to see the caps winelektro
- I'm almost the same way about Ovechkin though. I like people who are not as emotional and are more reserved.juhls
- And I know lots of people love that about these players, so it's cool.juhls
- I like Datsyuk's style. Ovekin just proved there is no I in TEAM. :prosem

Anyway, I like the Pens as a team. Lemieux will always be one of my favourites.

Everyone counted the Pens out just a few short months ago. They get to play the no respect card, the everyone hates Crosby card, and we got our asses handed to us by a very good team in the Finals last year card.
If they lost this series, they would have taken so many steps backward it would have been akin to many teams in the past who failed to raise Lord Stanley.
Yes, they didn't have the regular season everyone expected of them. But you don't get the Cup for what happens in there. Everyone's mentality was just get to the playoffs no matter the seed (ended up fucking 4th for fuck's sake), and it would work itself out, but just fucking get there.
After a series like this, I don't see the Bruins or Canes winning against the Penguins. 5/6 games tops. The NHL would love to have a Boston/ Chicago Final though... they already had their Crosby/ Ovechkin Series, that would be their next ideal candidate.
But the Staal Brothers playing each other would be great in the Eastern Finals for the fans of both teams, haha.
The Penguins ... so hot rite now.
They could collectively take a shit in aluminum foil, wrap them up, and Queen Elizabeth would wear them as earrings.
- They are hot right now, but everyone will be exhausted (including from the other team). The series was close.juhls
- 4th isn't that bad, imo. To me, it's weird that some teams can be great during the reg. season and do amazingly welljuhls
- during the playoffs, and vice-versa. It's been that way for years, but it can be frustrating depending on your team.juhls
- *great during the reg. season = average during the reg. seasonjuhls
- I think they'll be fine despite the fatigue factor. Of course I say this as a Pens fan and not a conscientious observer, haha.flavorful
