Thanks everyone for the great comments. I did try making the Quiet the lighter weight but there was too much disconnect between the Q and the rest of the word. To clarify: the logo is not supposed to be zen-like. The program is after all for corporate associates so I am going for the zen-business look.
Regardless here is what I am planning on presenting to the client. Colors are non-negotiable.

I am thinking that for the brush stroke version the text could be used inside the circle only when space permits, like a t-shirt. Just a thought

I don't see the correlation from the mark to the strategy of the brand/client. Could you explain? Assuming of course that there is an evocative tie to the mark explorations, and that those are not just random shapes.
I personally thought the initial direction was going to evolve differently. That is to say, for me, when I first saw the circle mark, the first impression for a revision I got was to use the mark to enfold another mark. A pair of arm enfolding an exclamation mark, e.g.
I don't know how to express what I was expecting. It just doesn't have any personality, and I find it hard to envision a client embracing something that the average person doesn't understand.
I think the circular idea works when you use it to embrace something else, since your client is a life coach.

dont use the brush version. there is no unity between the type and mark.
Could use some more tweaking in B+W first, IMHO

6a stealing the quicktime logo?

Maybe I am just being thick-headed but every option I tried didnt seem to be as good as the first. The only thing I really changed was the rounded corners to soften it up a bit.
- you asked for a crit, than just took two and added color.baseline_shift
- +1, what was the point of asking when you didn't re-approach the previous iteration?Andrew_D

Alright, that is valid. I will push back the presentation a bit to do some more explorations.

initial reactions:
1) the word 'quiet' in bold isn't exactly quiet...
2) I like the circle shape you're using and my first read of it was as a "Q", so i think that you are onto something there.
3) I think if you can find a balance between that shape and the typography then it will be more successful
4) the colors do come off as a bit web 2.0-ish. You could explore a color palette that is a bit more muted/quieter/lighter- Really? I read the Q as an O. Didn't seem all that obvious.Andrew_D
- I like the q, actually. Its a nice shape. It does kinda remind me of a HORN, which is not quiet, either.baseline_shift

On second look, I think another issue you're having is size/scale. Currently, the marks look horsey in all of your comps. I'd definitely recommend playing with the scale more.

I don't think that any of those marks evoke a quiet space. If you are going to do a brush stroke circle this (I think this is closest to succeeding) you really should do it with real paint and scan it in; The ai brush stroke looks really artificial.
Also I think the mark would go much further in communicating a quiet zen feel by using lighter more muted colors.

dMullens:
The Circle shape is a clean stylized representation of an Enso. It is also doubling as the Q. So its not just a random shape. There was a small amount of thought that went into it.
- its good to research this kinda thing. not sure how well the 'enso' is recognized by the public, though. i got horn.baseline_shift
- dMullins0
Hmm, learn something new everyday. I still think there is a strong possibility that you can take the Enso and make it ownable somehow for the client.
