This is for a lifecoach type client who does seminars on how to be an effective leader and improve your productivity etc...
The product is Quietspacing, a program he developed to help people find a balance between their work and all the distractions that surround it; its supposed to help people "get in the zone" and be more productive.
I am trying to sell the idea of using the Zen symbol Enso as the basis of the logo which is the circle shape that you see.
I would just like to hear your opinions on which direction is working better than others. Thanks
(its a big gif)

i'm liking 1a or 3b, what definitely does not work is the text within the symbol...it just has to be too small - i like the last one but it feels like it would be for soundproofing or something industrial, not for a peaceful balance. despite the similarities that 3b has to what was posted above, if you are going to do a brush stroke it needs some weight to it... the others feel too thin (my opinion)

i like the first one best

I like 1a and 1c. Obviously 1c would never work at smaller sizes so maybe 1a could be the alternate.
Still think it's lacking that certain 'something' though. Needs to be pushed further. Keep going.

less text, more design maybe, see where shapes can get you trying not to use the font?

I don't think the contrast between that font (gotham?) works too well, perhaps it's because of the of the length of the words, and or the lack of a character space between them?!
I think the graphic elements feel too corporate and hard edged, however I'm saying this without the benefit of knowing anything about the product?! plus, again contrast, it feels very big and uncomfortable in relation to the type.

yep, guilty of Gotham. I am thinking of using a different font for "Spacing" instead of just a different weight. I'll see what I can come up with.
thanks for the constructivism.

if you are going to use two weights, 'quiet' should be the lighter one. seems lighter, no? maybe if you used a light and extra light weight, it might feel lighter overall. try a few different faces
visually, i think the first iteration is the strongest.
- i like that. i'll give it a try in the morning and repostlumedia

i like the first one best.
type inside the mark is too tiny
6b is also nice
the 7s feel claustrophobic to me

I think the direction couldn't be further from the short brief you gave. The visual aids don't relate to anything at all. It appears you're combining common shapes found in other mark's with a trendy type/weight. The overall feel a too heavy to be considered Zen like.
Why don't you try focusing on the symbolism behind the name of the company? Ask yourself what those two words mean together? What is their relationship?
Explore separating the two words could be an interesting option and tying them together with a graphic mark. It's almost like "the zone" as he described is right in the middle. "Finding that middle ground," I suppose.
Hope I wasn't harsh and more towards helpful. Cheers and good luck.
