Thumbs up, a very nice compilation.
I just wish the PDF compression wasn't so heavy, but great looking stuff!

I feel that many of the images are competing with each other in the spreads. Try putting a busy image next to something completely different so that the viewer isn't all over the place.
I am also having issues with the fake page curve gradients, they're completely unnecessary and they intrude on your photographs. Additionally, I would rethink the font choice or further refine it.
- see, moveinspace? I do provide constructive criticism!monospaced
- congrats. told you it wasn't that hard.moveinspace

"one shot hdr. aka hdr filter"
yeah, right! do you know what hdr is?
- Using a single RAW file is not true HDR, btw. So don't even go there.monospaced
- learn the difference between dragan and hdr. then come backdanthon
- @ carpetdanthon
- not dragancarpetbagger
- the first shot is classic dragan. third shot has mild tonemapping. Good on V3 for getting out and making shotsdanthon

carpetbagger & monospaced. You are both correct. True HDR is multiple bracket exposures combined into one single exposure. Unfortunately with the power of RAW you can take one single shoot and manipulate the shoot into 3 different ones to get the desired effect. Or you can import into photomatrix and "faux" HDR.
Also ... version 3 ... are you going to get that published?

This should have been referred to as 2007 a year in review. This was more or less a casual calendar year of using my first rebel, the xt, no client(s)/work shown, a few fundraisers but nothing professional. I was fauxing the vignette with software before lower/bigger aperture lenses started coming my way. I personally like the over detailed look, esp b&w. I've never printed this book but was preparing to try blurb's services. I assembled this last year but it never got past this as the software i was using was replaced by Lightroom. The shading in the center was to faux the page look but would not be in the finals sent for print.
As far as HDR, I always get asked if this set is HDR, they are not, Just bright light, tiny apertures and a steady camera with every bit of detail I can find in Lightroom.

I ended up having a variant of the .pdf printed through blurb, i'll let you know how it turn out :D I narrowed it down to 120 pages, image wrap hardcover on premium paper using Auto 1 as the Typeface

lol, did you really call the book that?

The point of the name isn't that I'm a rebel but when I started getting into photography, it was the first camera I bought, a Rebel XT. So while these pictures may not be a portfolio, they were all taken with that first DSLR. These shots are all years old, a time capsule for me and a chance to see blurbs capabilities. My family will enjoy this too.
