Photographers deserve about 5% of the credit they actually try to ascribe to themselves from taking a photo.
Most of AKOS photos are made beautiful thanks to good Makeup Artists, the Wardrobe & Designers, and probably an Art Director who is the actual vision and imagination behind the work.
- couldn't agree more.lvl_13
- depends on the shot, but in his case i agree. there's very little going on other than pressing the shutter buttponsikma

Why did you reply to him at all? And when you did, why the smart-ass and disrespectful comments? You deserve to be blacklisted for being so stupid.
Two cunts don't make a right. But two Wrights did make the first airplane.

What your coworker wrote shouldn't have been seen as insulting. He simply reacted to a sleazy method of self-promotion by saying that a self-respecting photographer shouldn't have to do such a thing. The photographer, on the other hand, ended up sounding like a total snob and resorted to name-dropping and embellishments, not to mention passion-inspired writing full of grammatical, spelling and syntax errors which expose his lack of education. The fact stands that a good photographer shouldn't lower himself to the level of a penis enlargement scam.
- he did, but they left themselves open to it, unfortunately.zenmasterfoo

It was meant to be funny - sorry to offend anyone, but maybe "out there in the hills....in no-where land....." have a different sense of humor :)
{but yes, mono, I agree, coworker just had the intention of pointing out that a good photographer shouldn't lower himself to the level of spam --- maybe he didn't word it correctly}

I think all forms of finding work is fine. Those with a salary job may not understand that freelancers wake up unemployed everyday and finding new leads is key to progressing their craft. plus the current condition of the economic workforce forces us to try the "undesirable " options.

may be, just may be..

His attitude sucks but his photography kicks ass. Mostly.

Personally, I think the email to him was wrong from the get go. There are more professional ways of replying to his unsolicited emails. Throwing 'penis enlarger' in there also sounds like you're saying he has a small dick and a uniball (okay maybe I'm making shit up. Maybe not. Hmmm). He definitely took it to offense and retaliated. That's for sure. And by all means does he have the work to back it up and he can probably do what he says he can do. Your coworker may want to apologize for the brash email. He took it a bit too far as well. 'Penis Enlarger' to a man is like 'Cunt tightener' to a girl. Okay maybe I'm making more shit up. Never burn your bridges.
