My god this company pisses me off. So I sold my amps on ebay nearly two weeks ago now and PayPal have put a limation on my account because I have transferred nearly £1000 pounds over a period of one year. I now have to wait almost a fucking week before they release the funds. From what I can gather from paypal useless website they are checking my bank details which have not changed in two years. And on top of all this I have the ebay buyer going mental at me for delaying shipment of the product he just brought.
But the real pain in the ass is I have only tranfered over a period of one year £890 so there is no reason to do the bloody checks.
Useless bloody company.
In the past 12 months, you have received a large amount of money into your PayPal account. This is a courtesy reminder: An annual receiving limit of £1,700.00 GBP is in place to allow us to comply with Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
If you do reach the annual receiving limit of £1,700.00 GBP you will no longer be able to withdraw or send money, fund transactions or close your account until you complete certain steps to lift your limit.
Please visit the Resolution Centre and complete the "Steps to Remove Limitations".
We appreciate your business and apologise for any inconvenience.

That happened to me, from what I remember I phoned them, got a code, put it into the website and everything was back to normal.
There may have been more to it than that though...
But yeah, they suck. PayPal is shite.

90 British pounds = 1 306.253 U.S. dollars
If I remember correctly the limit is 1000 dollars...Paypal is a joke. Get out of there man. They are not a bank you aren't safe.

I currently have this limitation aswell, the fucker is I have no landline phone so I can't verify the number. oh and they have taken two weeks to put those deposits in.
eBay can fuck off with their 10% final amount fees and then crazy paypal fees ontop of that.

I've verified everything about three years ago and use the same accounts.

Don't you have the option of instigating a full account check at any point you wish, before you hit the cut off though? I had problems with PayPal locking money away for 180 days a couple of times, which was hella annoying, but they have governmental requirements they have to fulfill - £1k+ and you're in tax-territory. Makes sense, sadly.
- I don't know why I'm defending them. I fucking hate them.Nairn

same thing has happened to me. i fucking hate painpal.

I also had this issue, except I was a buyer and was getting paid through Paypal for various things. They decided to freeze my account for basically no reason at all, and it took me forever to get the necessary documents approved before they re-opened my account. I still use them, as most online stores work through them, but I try not to keep a lot of money in there.

I have never had this problem and I get more than 1000 dollars sent through there annually. Or do you mean if someone sends you 1000 or more in one lump sum? If that is the case, this is good to know! I think the largest lump sump I've had through there was 800 dollars. I always transfer money out of there to my bank account though as soon as I get it in case there are any shennanigans.....

so use a different reseller that allows cross-nation sales fairly easily while still accounting to local laws and charging you very little of the amount. and stop fucking whinging like the company owes you shit.

You don't need a phone line - I think you can do the check via mail max...

Well from the research I have managed to find PayPal have a new payment policy.
When ever a seller get funds into there account PayPal will hold the money until the product has been ship out to the buyer and received the good.
Who the fuck in there right mind ships out products in the hope that maybe the funds will end up in there account if PayPal agree to do so, this is just ridiculous, and I know of no company who will sent out a brand new Pro Mac to me without payment first into there business account, do you.

Interesting. I got a camera from ebay a few weeks ago and the seller told me that I needed to leave feedback before the cash was released to her.
I thought that was odd. Guess it's a new policy then.
In a way, it seems to be a switch to protecting the buyer. And I'd hazard a guess that buyers probably get ripped off more often than sellers...
- Paypal will only release funds if Feedback is left, or the buyer has received the product? WTF about the seller.********

Holding funds from a seller is taken the piss, and I wonder I mush interest PayPal get with this move? It's about time someone come along and put some competition to Ebay and PayPal, the hole system in wrong if you ask me.
