Anyone has ever verified how effective (to fight terrorism, not to rise paranoia) this stuff is?
- stem0
The only think I find worrying about them is how bad they are.
I find them misleading. I don't see what their aim is.Isn't it the governments responsibility to keep us safe from terror. Or do we have to that ourselves too?
- Autokern0
I guess they're just trying to aware self awareness
but to me that campaign seems jut a witch-hunt

I saw one advert that had pictures of house hold products in the bin... 'be alert' or something.. then a spiel about household objects being used for a bomb... whats next? educting the public on how to make a bomb so that we can fight back? ha!
i remember when pipe bomb diagrams were done with ascii.- I saw this too... the biggest flaw is WHAT ARE THEY IN THE BIN?! someone could just pick them out and make a bombflashbender

I'm doing the maths in my head - but haven't there been like 60 - max - deaths in the UK in the last 10 years directly attributable to terrorism?
That's fuck all compared to drink, drugs, car crashes...

Terrorism isn't worth the worry...

stem, this is where you fall in the trap.
nobody can honestly say that they have never done nothing wrong, its humanly not possible or you'll be a saint.
saying that you're assuming that you know every laws even the outdated one and thats where lies the trap.
if someone wants to ruin you or they will always find a way to do it.
believe me.
don't assume that you're innocent because noone is.

The most effective and cost effective way to stop terrorism is to stop, search and question people who fit the description of current terrorist groups within the UK.
The police cannot do this as it would mean stopping ethnic minorities, and that would be seen as them being racist.
So instead to keep the 'balance' right, they have to stop people like you, me, your mum, your gran.
And this is a complete waste of taxpayers money. This scaremongering advertising is a load of nonsense too and a complete waste of taxpayers money.
I mentioned this following point in another thread;
the other week there was a press release about "terror training" people who work in the public sector are meant to be getting.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/79…
One of the lines ..."The updated strategy will increase the focus on challenging individuals and groups who undermine the UK's "shared values" - even if they are not breaking the law."
Forgive me if i'm wrong in suggesting this ... but doesnt that statement make all these bankers (who took risks with UK savers money) terrorists?
Like Moth said, we do have far bigger problems in the UK than terrorism. I'm pretty sure that all the drink, drugs and car crashes dont even add up to the BILLIONS that have been lost thanks to these corrupt bankers.
I'd rather see billboards of these corrupt bankers put up everywhere, especially in their local neighbourhoods lol, so that people can suitable acknowledge these bankers as they pass them in the street and act accordingly.

People always find something to complain about eh?. Just fucking stop being a baby and realise what the ad is getting at. If you see someone clearly doing something dodgy around cameras fucking tell someone instead of walking along and thinking nothing of it, and the same goes for if someone falls over or needs a hand with their shopping just lend a helping hand that's all it's saying. However bogans like kon23 will always find something to harp on about including what was it again kon23 keep me right here. You managed to get a building site to stop working to suit your lifestyle as you didn't like the noise of their hammers as they were building something?.
- what would be an example of doing something clearly dodgy?ribit
