I have just got my XA2 and I am totally new to the camera. Can someone advise me on how the camera works?
I just got a roll back with everything over exposed. n00b
Please help if anyone has used this camera before. I probably am doing something wrong.
Thanks

changed the battery and the light meter still reads it wrong i think. The shutter is staying open way to long.
I believe i got hosed on ebay.

I had an XA2 once. I think the camera reads the film's ISO speed from the barcode on the film, if you take a pencil eraser and rubbing alcohol, you can probably clean the contacts in the film compartment, that may solve your problem if everything is predictably overexposed. Alternately, try 50 ISO film.
If the shutter is always staying open for a long, similar amount of time, it could be a bad solenoid
Also I believe the light meter was a NOT though-the-lens, so try cleaning anything that looks like a little eye on the front of the camera, both with clamshell open and closed.
It is possible that a finger is in front of a meter cell, but I don't mean to insult you.....
- wow thanks for being so helpful. I'll try all that. and dont worry i'm not insultedTheDrago
