My point is, when pressed, the religious (catholic/christian) community cannot come up with ANYTHING to support their beliefs except for saying the same thing over and over again: God.
I resign that the very beginning could be the result of something intelligent, but that our existence is bound by nothing but the order of the universe and has nothing to do with fictional characters, sin, heaven, hell or Jesus.
- Alright, I'm done. I can't do this anymore. Enjoy hell, sinners!monospaced

People wonder why I'm such a militant atheist/anti-christian.
- i never wondered about that...blog
- you're right... only I wonder.ipissexcellence

I can't believe any dogma that pins me as a sinner from the day I was born. I won't spend the rest of my life begging for forgiveness that I'm enjoying my short time alive.
- "begging for forgiveness" where did you get that idea from? Not Christianity.designbot
- totally!
Confession!? Hail-marys and all that!? Praying!? All forms of begging.monospaced - Those fuckers invented that shit.monospaced
- those are all exclusive to the Catholic faith, except for praying for forgiveness.designbot
- If you offended a close friend/wife/ family member would you ask for forgiveness?designbot
- Sure, but not to make sure I wasn't going to a fictional hot place for fucking eternity!monospaced
- Not to appease the bearded man in the clouds! Forgiveness from the person is, and always should be, enough.monospaced
- my point was if you are willing to ask for forgiveness of men (and women) then how much more should you ask God for forgiveness.designbot
- forgiveness.designbot
- Nope, forgiveness must come from someone who hasn't sinned. That's the only person with the power to forgive.Scotch_Roman
- Men and women are real. God and Jesus are not. HUGE FUCKING DIFFERENCE!monospaced
- Once again, you're implying sin, which is a Catholic/Christian invention.monospaced
- by the limits you put on the definition of "real"...there would be no way to prove that forgiveness itself is even real.designbot
- When a person says "you are forgiven" you can believe them. When you hear voices, it's probably not.monospaced
- That's reality for you.monospaced
- I don't hear voices. Neither do most other Christians. You're being purposefully daft.Scotch_Roman

just to add my salt and pepper to this blog - "Jesus can suck the milk from my tits"

we don't need to prove you anything, fuck I don't give a shit. Is a personal choice. you repeat the same shit that someone else wrote or say before you and you believe in that way of life, good for you!
I agree that christian subculture has underestimate knowledge and discussion, science, technology, Art and DESIGN!!! and the religious christian groups struggles big time , but that doesn't mean there is not value in christian faith, Something you have never experienced.

i think what Jeebus is trying to say to us is, simply...
"EAT ME!!!""
- monospaced0
Are you saying that I am the one repeating "the same shit that someone else wrote or [said] before" me? I made up everything I wrote above, unlike the believers in the fucking Bible.
Western faith has underestimated knowledge, science technology art and design. It does struggle big time and rightly so.
Of course there is value in that faith, because it does want everyone to be good people. But once again, I don't need fear (Hell) or myth (Jesus, miracles, etc) to teach me what I already know. That's it.
- I visualized you saying this all dramatic with your fists in an air of passion ... beautifulrayborn3000

Nobody should need a religion to tell them how to lead a good life.

If you already know everything why to argue?
- designbot0
@mono Yes, this is why every person needs to ask themselves what is the most logical. Do I think that the universe and all that's in it was spontaneously formed out of nothing? Could the great deal of order and complexity in the universe have been formed out of complete chaos? And if so what does this mean for me? Is there no purpose to my existence? Or do I believe there was a designer behind everything that exists? Do I believe I was created for a purpose?
If you agree that the universe could be "result of something intelligent" why not God? I think most of us simply want an ambiguous force instead of God, impersonal, something that requires no commitment to believe in. We want to live our lives the way we see fit. Which is why I believe many people cant be "tied down" to believe in a personal God.

I'm not getting into this, its pointless, but suffice to say that the bashing of scientific knowledge in these threads is astounding. The bonkers position of faith being in some way the thing which needs to be disproved here, something which is in any way backed up is staggeringly, eye poppingly insane.

in situations like this the only appropriate thing left to do is this: http://www.qbn.com/topics/583707…

And yes today being an atheist is a trend, arguing the bible and God... and never have investigate for yourself. And is a personal choice, I respect that.
