they could make the comparison with the who wrote the stimulus better with a zillion other random news stories but the cartoonist chose the monkey for a reason and the editor published it for a reason...because itll make people argue about racism some more and all the racists will laugh

How, in ANY way, is the the chimp related to the stimulus package?
A black man wrote the bill, and he has been likened to a lesser great ape. That, in my opinion, is kinda racist.
- A monkey could have written this bill... it's that shitty. ;)PonyBoy
- you are just upset cuz you have mono in your nameCALLES
- its means monkey in spanishCALLES
- alright, I'll take your refund if you don't want itmonospaced
- that's if you make the connection between a black man and a monkey, which i didn't.sputnik2
- but saying something was "made" or "written by" chimps or monkeys is an expression. and not a racist one.sputnik2

the thought of a 200-pound chimp going ape-sh*t scares the piss out of me.
- oh, and the cartoon does seem racist, IMO.imakethepictures

Why they gotta be two white cops? Now cops can't be black? These guys are more racist than Nascar.

I'm gonna be honest....
If you are a typical american and obviously you would know about the stimulus bill because that means $$ in your pocket then you would also know that Obama has been backing that since his campaign....
stimulus bill + dead monkey = pretty racist

Is it bad that I feel really sorry for the chimp?
The chimp attacked Nash as Herold, 70, frantically stabbed her beloved pet with a butcher knife and pounded him with a shovel.
"He looked at me like, 'Mom, what did you do?'" Herold told NBC's "Today" in an interview aired Wednesday. "It was horrific what happened and I had to do what I had to do, but still, I'll miss him for the rest of my life."
Brings a tear to my eye :'(
- I have no sympathy for her. They kept a wild animal in their house. What did they think would eventually happen?sigg
- It's not the chimp's fault he was on Xanax. What was she thinking?5timuli
- It would start doing their taxes while wearing a pair of bifocals? WTF. It's a wild, untamed animal.sigg
- thank you for taking this subject to a meaning place_salisae_
- I don't feel sorry for the owner, but the way she told the story of her pet looking at her breaks my heart.5timuli

For those of you not in NYC or familiar with the audience of each paper - we have three major papers - The Post, the Daily News, and the NY Times.
The Times we all know is called "liberal" except by real progressives who see it as a tool for corporations. The Daily News is the old school union labor-left everyman's kinda paper and the Post is, while one of the older papers in the country, these days a mouthpiece for Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch. It's purposefully stupid and uses dumbed-down language and couches everything in innuendo - if you've watched Fox News then you know what I mean. Although the Post does do have some clever headlines and it really is the best sports section in the city.
Everyday the Post and the Daily News love to take potshots at each other in their respective pages, which is kinda fun - kinda the way MSNBC and FOX do.
- Sounds like the Guardian/Times/Sun.rounce
- exactly...TheBlueOne

The NY Post is a neoconservative, GOP right wing, propaganda news machine. And we all know that most racists aligned themselves with the Republicans!
- TheBlueOne0
Look, the Post runs columns by neo-rightwing rascist Michelle Malkin:

You know, Malkin, who loves to take photos with her rascist fans, you know, ones that use swastikas:

I dont read post or care for it. When I saw the cartoon, I immediately thought those darn monkey politicians. Obama didnt even come to mind until someone pointed it out.
Politicians are politicians, doesnt matter what race they are. They are all monkeys.

You know, despite my hatred of the Post, I just spent the last ten minutes looking through the past editorial cartoons of the artist in question and can't really find anythign to offensive, so I'm going to tgo with a general "no" on the "is this racist?" question, at least on the part of the cartoonist. And here's an earlier cartoon from the same guy with two cops...looks like they're a regular motif in his work:
