You need to set up your Mac as VNC server and then use a VNC client app to connect. These are a couple of link that could help you understand how to do it.

Never used Jolly before, but I used Real VNC (http://www.realvnc.com/products... and it was just fine.

If you just want to grab files, you could use Apple File Sharing, nothing else needed, to mount your remote Mac's hard drive on your desktop (plus any attached drives).
Go Connect to Server > afp://(ip address):548
You need to turn on file sharing and if your Mac is on a LAN at home, set port forwarding of port 548 in your router to point at your Mac
