  any thoughts?

  but my two cents .....

  A friend of mine is excited about iMovie '09 and said, "I guess I don't have to buy final cut anymore after watching the tutorials, it does SOOO much." Granted, it has some features that most consumers want in a video editing app, but seriously, it's just like Apple messing up on '08, and after everyone bitched about it, they gave everyone what they wanted and was ALREADY in '06. And then, they stole bridge in iPhoto. GRRR...

  iMovie '09 is not a replacement for FCP!

  I dont get it. First they have imovie features then they take them away in 08 so you will buy final cut express and now they put it back in so you dont? fuck them.

  Man this program is a completely unintuitive piece of worthless junk!

  Why can't I just create a new event and organize several clips within?!!!

  Why is it that in my project library there is no way to create an empty folder at the root!?

  Instead you have to create a new project at the root, click on it, then create a new folder while selected on the new project.

  Why is it that after I create several new projects and drag clips from my library, I can't delete the videos in my library! Why the hell would it not make a copy of it!

  Why is there now way to reorganize the order of clips under a single event?!!

  Screw this program!

  I hate iMovie 09!!!

  too funny that you just happen to bumpthis thread. i was literally digging around in imovie because i have to put this PSA style thing together. i thought it would be easier to just drag and drop than creatte a new project in FCP...that was quickly tossed aside as you can't even have multiple video tracks in imovie (and fcp you can have 99).

  so yeah, FCP it is i guess...which is fine, because i'm familiar with it.
