Hi James,
Thanks for the info. I have not really looked into Gmail alternative to email but I do have 3 accounts so I think this option may not work too well if I want to send from my phone

Why don't you just get the free trial and make up your own mind instead of asking people to "sell" it to you.

I've been using a trial of MobileMe for around 90 days now - they gave me extra time due to all the problems they had at the start.
Thankfully, service is now good - I have had no problems whatsoever in the last month or so.
I have noticed a few things:
* The webmail I don't use. I have Gmail and use Google to look after my company email accounts to so they are all IMAP. This syncs nicely across the web, Mail and iPhone. No need for MobileMe here.
* The Calendar and Contacts feature is actually extremely useful. It's one of those technologies that I lived without but now I've had it "just work"ing for a while I don't think I can go back to not having everything in seamless sync at all times. It is an incredibly useful service JUST for the instant sync of calendars and not having to worry about inputting something in iCal and not having it on your iPhone just before a meeting the next day.
So all in all, I recommend MobileMe if keeping organised without any hassle is a priority. If you're looking for a kick ass webmail service then this is probably not the best / there are equally good free alternatives.
Also, Things is a great iPhone app.

I think I may just rely on pulling in email every 15mins or so.
I just feel setting up another app to pull in email a bit too much right now.

Hm no, gmail lets you combine addresses and respond from which ever one you choose. You can set up rules so that different email accounts go to different folders. mail app will 'honour' this and also lets you respond from many addresses. Iphone I'm not sure. I would use mail app for one address and gmail for another perhaps, both on iphone.

Atkinson,
I have read about this, the problem is that I use 3 separate email accounts that are used for different things. Will using Gmail not just bundle all these emails in one lump and if I mail out I will not be able to specify which account it comes from?
THanks

I considered this. I now use google apps mail for my domain which is imapped to my mail app on MBP and mail app on iPhone. Works fine. There's a couple of quirks with Gmail and Mail app but none that prevent it being used. I do like the idea of 'the cloud' though but am a bit scared of it just yet.

theres a great notes app called writing pad, the way it types is amazing, you just drag your finger from one letter to the next and it predicts. super easy!

yeah look up igtd for your computer, I think there's something called.. Things which is meant to be good, but there was a better one that I found.. forget the name though. And it was either free or cheaper than Things.

Whilst I am here, is there any apps that would help me out with my work/life set up... Not interested in gimicky stuff.
