I love it when clients cry.

Its always good to fire clients that are disruptive or detrimental to your business. So much extra time and energy gets wasted on bad clients, that it often eats away at your bottom line.
I also find when I fire bad clients, something bigger and better typically comes along to fill the void in short time.
Its part of the growing process as a company or even as an individual freelancer.

I have never swore at a client but I have expressed extreme contempt in no uncertain terms here and there. Even if they are totally in the wrong and you are entirely in the right, it only ever leads to one conclusion... you have to strike them off your client list.
I try to be philosophical about that - if they were dicking you about mercilessly and had no respect for your work or your business then there'd be no point in keeping them as a client, but when you consider how much inconvenience many clients can bring to your table in general you have to consider that if you refuse to eat shit completely you'll have no clients eventually.
Now I am a student of the art of sage-like patience and I calmly explain, in very simple terms, what the problem is. Then I leave the client to work it out for themselves.

I have never swore at a client, don't see why i should. if its so bad, just raise the price or drop them as a client.

Is telling a client to 'shampoo your groin' considered swearing?

I wouldnt swear at a client, but i've definitely had my share of "dh%&dsfdshf" after they've left a meeting or after i've hung up on the phone.
I think the best way for a bit of self satisfaction from being pissed off with a client is to craft an email that makes them look like a complete knob, but really subtly.
I had an email from a client yesterday, she was angry saying that files she'd sent to be uploaded to the site werent showing up.
I previously explained to her that the CMS will ignore them if they are physically too small or spelling inconsistencies in filenames v's database.
She said in her email that she had doublechecked all ...I checked myself ... filenames not tying up and two images that were too small.
Sent her an email back saying that any images etc NOT appearing on the site isnt to do with the website failing, it is to do with human error and could she please, in future, triplecheck everything.
Being a cheeky c*nt is the best touche!

my boss told me stories of being at a 'meeting' with a female client and she got all emotional and started crying to him, telling him all about her relationship & recent breakup and all that jazz.
an he was like : ehhh.. : o
awkward moment i guess.
do you hug her? feel her tits? try and shag her?

I once accidentally called a client a f_cker as I thought a friend was calling with a similar mobile number: "Hey you f_cker, I've waiting for you to call..."

I found out a month after finishing a job for one guy, while I was out for a drink with my best pal and we bumped into the lad, that she had shagged him the previous year. funny as fuck.

I worked in the music industry for two years. anyway we work in teams of about 15 people, a mix of team managers, creative 1 me, and the rest. So this marketing women brief me on a project. She then starts to come over to my desk every hours to see what I have created, after the fifth hour she start to give me instruction on how to graphic design.
I say that given advise if fine, but telling someone how to do there fucking job is a anther matter very loudly. She walked away, and I smiled, and a friend behind me laughed.

got into a little disagreement with a client once.
she needed to pay the balance on the project I worked on. She never answered emails/phone calls etc. If I did get her on the phone, she'd say she was going out of town and try her when she gets back. This went on for months.
I finally decided to pull the plug on her website and took it down. I was greeted a couple days later with a phone call more like a screaming tirade about why was her site down bla bla bla. I'm like you need to pay me. Pay me my money, and I will put your site back up.
She cursed some more at me, but I got my money. She said I never have to worry about hearing from her again or any more work from her. Like I give a damn.
- Too right. I've been in that same boat. Take it down until they pay. Why give them work that is unpaid?MSL
