how many designers can maintain a healthy lifestyle (at least one slice of bread per day) with doing design without the fucking agony lowlife piece of shitwork that is webdesign!?!?
:)

I thought you were quitting design and moving to Luxemburg

i'm starting a webdesign project at work on wednesday for a rather large client. It's my first real 'web design' project and i'm kinda nervous. My project manager already asked me if I like to sleep and if I like coffee. I already know what's going to happen.. but.. there's a few key words involved with this project: 'discretionary bonus'.

me
- you're such an attention whore moamoa... at least show us the goods if you're gonna make us all look :Dd_rek
- hey hey hey, I lurked 4 years, before I started to be an attention whore. that is some hard work.moamoa
- guess i need to lurk for a couple of years moard_rek
- :) indeed you have to study the personalities here, and then you can start sliming.moamoa
- I would work for you anytime, momoa.monospaced

Used to but now it's probably 40 web, 60 print/other

webdesign is not shit. It's *more advanced* than printdesign.

i just hate the crazy amount of revisions and the ridiculous amount of shit you need to explain your clients. blergh..

A good graphic design job (not web) can get you lots of bread.

I'm going to come right out and say it. I don't like print. Having to worry about pantone colors, paper weights, and random mistakes is enough to give me a migraine. Give me a Flash movie and some CSS anyday.
- we need guys like you!!!!! thanx otherwise....we would fuck up :)moamoa
- amen. leave that to the code monkeysmonospaced
- not a code monkey...just prefer web in general:)....but to each their ownukit
- i agree with ukit... not being able to code stops you doing a lot of stuffPromotionalUseOnly
- like design?monospaced

People kinda assume if your a designer you also good at web. Been learning web for about 2 years now, still can't bare to tackle ActionScript or PHP. Everytime I try something technical like that something inside just stops me. If you want your web work with less hassle i'd recommend dedicating yourself to CSS and adopting a platform like textpattern. In the long run would result is less tears (i hope :'-)
Don't know if this is the same for others but the demand seems to be pretty steady for web and more sporadic for print/ hence the reason I started doing web.
- yes, but then textpattern ends up missing things clients want and you keep fighting.. it never ends..janne76

I hate web design and, not surprisingly, do very little of it
