I have a disturbing image of a human breast milk factory in my head now Kon, cheers.
I'm cruel and heartless, I don't really give that much of a fuck about the plight of dairy cows.

To animal rights people:
Humans are always more important than animals. If you think otherwise you're an idiot. To speak about animal rights on behalf of animals is to assume that you're superior to them and somehow know what they're thinking, so the act of talking about animal rights negates your own argument. It pisses me off when I see people giving money to dogs homes or donkey sanctuaries instead of actual important charities for humans. Is a homeless dog really more important than a human cancer sufferer? really?

THANK YOUdesignbot - well you're going to hellset
- i would say most people that care about animal rights don't think animals are more important then animals.. just that they should be treated like living things.lackofcolor

Fuck no, Baskerville - I used to hold opinions kind of like yours, 'til I acknowledged and considered the full weight of the reality of there being over 6.5 billion of us (and growing, ever growing) on this tiny little planet.
The environment has to take precedence over our selfish needs, otherwise what on Earth will our children inherit?
We're too many and too successful.
- which environment do you mean though; the genuine wilderness or the man made agricultural one this thread refers to?kelpie
- (ps. will reply to your mail soon. can't quite be arsed yet, nothing personal ;D)kelpie
- the environment = shorthand for everything that isn't exclusively human-oriented.Nairn
- Don't worry about the response - none required, so fret not and don't be arsed away!Nairn
- What "selfish needs" exactly? Who do you suppose this planet is for?designbot
- No one. Everyone.
Everything. Nothing.
Whose needs do you think take precedence?Nairn

who says animal rights take precedence over human rights or that they are independent of each other? I think that is bullshit. I'm not sure if PETA has a policy on abortion but I imagine they are pro-choice as opposed to pro-abortion.
are we going to have a debate on semantics, ethics and morality?

Mmmmm Chocolate Nipple Ripple:
Vanilla breast-milk ice cream with chocolate nipple-shaped chunks and a fudge swirl

We as humans should treat animals well. We are not more important and not less. We all deserve to be treated well.

I didn't take the environment, I'm talking about human created animals, like pets, donkeys etc that should never have been made in the first place. How many pointless domesticated dogs and cats have we got? I'm all for campaigning against climate change, incidently something that ben and jerry's is pretty good at.
- livestock has a worse impact on climate change than transport....lowimpakt

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU ON ABOUT BASKERVILLE?!?!
ANIMALS WILL STILL BE ON THIS PLANET WHEN WE ARE LONG GONE AND WERE AROUND MILLIONS OF YEARS BEFORE US TOO.
IF ANYTHING, US HUMANS ARE THE INCONVENIENCE TO THE ANIMALS - FUCKING UP AND POLLUTING THE WORLD THEY THRIVE IN.
- he's probably just read the bible too many times... :) joke!!lowimpakt
- well let's all kill ourselves then. As a human you have to accept you come first, or kill yourself!BaskerviIle
- Dude are you serious? Wow, if you think this way maybe the logical conclusion for human beings is to kill themselves.designbot
- DB, that would be the illogical conclusion you nutter.lowimpakt
- haha, nothing like a bit of lunctime silliness.. Love the caps KonBaskerviIle
- MASS SUICIDERS OVER HERE. HIPPIES AND FREAKS OVER THERE.lowimpakt
- was just being reactionary taking things to their conclusions like PETA to prove a point, didn't work!BaskerviIle
- I've been wrestling with that very question for about 6 years now, Baskerville.Nairn

Lock a PETA member up with some wild animals and lets watch the love and appreciation blossom.

And all you PETA members... you vegetarian bleeding hearts... how many animals were displaced or destroyed to build farms for crops?
And as a member of PETV (People for the Ethical Treatment of Vegtables) I am shocked at how vegetables are treated. Forced to grow in mechanical row after row, fertilized and irrigated against the natural law. Then cruelly plucked from the ground or vine and sent to your kitchens where they are cut, boiled, fried and other horrible deaths. For shame!
