who says animal rights take precedence over human rights or that they are independent of each other? I think that is bullshit. I'm not sure if PETA has a policy on abortion but I imagine they are pro-choice as opposed to pro-abortion.

are we going to have a debate on semantics, ethics and morality?

  • Nairn0

Fuck no, Baskerville - I used to hold opinions kind of like yours, 'til I acknowledged and considered the full weight of the reality of there being over 6.5 billion of us (and growing, ever growing) on this tiny little planet.

The environment has to take precedence over our selfish needs, otherwise what on Earth will our children inherit?

We're too many and too successful.

    • which environment do you mean though; the genuine wilderness or the man made agricultural one this thread refers to?kelpie
    • (ps. will reply to your mail soon. can't quite be arsed yet, nothing personal ;D)kelpie
    • the environment = shorthand for everything that isn't exclusively human-oriented.Nairn
    • Don't worry about the response - none required, so fret not and don't be arsed away!Nairn
    • What "selfish needs" exactly? Who do you suppose this planet is for?designbot
    • No one. Everyone.
      Everything. Nothing.
Whose needs do you think take precedence?

    To animal rights people:
Humans are always more important than animals. If you think otherwise you're an idiot. To speak about animal rights on behalf of animals is to assume that you're superior to them and somehow know what they're thinking, so the act of talking about animal rights negates your own argument.

It pisses me off when I see people giving money to dogs homes or donkey sanctuaries instead of actual important charities for humans. Is a homeless dog really more important than a human cancer sufferer? really?

      THANK YOU
      designbot
    • well you're going to hellset
    • i would say most people that care about animal rights don't think animals are more important then animals.. just that they should be treated like living things.lackofcolor

I have a disturbing image of a human breast milk factory in my head now Kon, cheers.

I'm cruel and heartless, I don't really give that much of a fuck about the plight of dairy cows.

    • yea me neither - we all fucking hypocrites and loving it.lowimpakt
    • I see no hypocrisy in this to be honest. Farmed cows don't scare me, its what they are for. Farmed humans dokelpie
  • mg330

I think they're gonna milk a bunch of tit-mice instead.

  • lowimpakt0

it is funny though how we are weirded out by the idea of human breast milk but we are OK with drinking from another species.

PETA are not being serious and are just making the correlation between pregnancy and cows milk - e.g We continually artificially inseminate cows so they get pregnant and produce milk. We don't allow them to wean properly and we just kill most of the calves that are produced.

I'm not sure which is more fucked up.

    • there was a tv prog on in the uk about this23kon
    • How about all the humans we kill through abortion?designbot
    • yea, what about that?lowimpakt
    • my only point was it seems there are people who will put animals above human life.designbot
    • Better than having to look after the brat for 18 years LOL AMIRIGHT?modern

PETA just urged ben&jerrys, they said no(fuck you hippie).

i think the lack of meat in their diet is causing PETA brains to shrink

  • designbot0

Yes, let's use human breast milk...becuase humans are less important than cows and cows are "suffering" unecessarly.

    Hippies!!!!

    • Four exclamation marks, eh?

You feel quite strongly on the subject?
      Nairn
    • LOL....yeah. I would have trouble containing myself if I saw these PETA people on the street.designbot

    WTF!?!?!?!

Right, how many gallons of milk would B&J go through in a day to make their ice cream? fuckin loads!
I reckon it would be pretty much impossible to match that with human breast milk without having warehouses full of women lines up in cubicles with suction machines on their tits extracting the milk.
then wouldnt that be degrading to those women?
so the hippies would rather degrade women and have their titsmilked as part of a large scale industrial process than degrading cows.

Another point, a woman has to be either pregnant or post pregnancy to make milk. so its only a tiny percentage of women who can produce milk in the world today. whereas EVERY female cow can produce milk dailly.

Hippies definitely need to get a grip, yes it is sensible to do things "green" or politically correct , but keep the suggestions sensible.

Its like them argueing to stop testing on animals.
yes it IS cruel and is probably done on too much of a big scale.
cosmetics companies should definitely be banned from testing on animals fullstop. makeup is NOT an important part of our survival, its only those milkmakin women that like the stuff. so all those animals are suffering for them to look good.
infact: rethink ........ if the women want to wear makeup then they have to go get their tits milked for an hour a day.
would that be a good solution?

anyway back to the point, aye makeup/cosmetic companies shouldnt be allowed to test on animals, but i do think it IS a good idea to test medicines / treatments on animals.
    what is the alternative?
drugs going to trials on humans, humans dying.
the last time that happened wasnt it a load of folk that had mad side effects, this made the headlines everywhere.

    • +1voiceof
    • I think they should test shit on prison inmates, lifers, death-sentence inmates, no-parolers, etc.elahon
    • might pretty them up a bit too eh? ugly bastards could use some mascarakelpie

I would just like to say that PETA are plant murdering scum!

Oh, and every time one of them is cured of cancer, or regains health after a common cold, GERM MURDERERS!

Oh lets just be reasonable peta, how is milking a cow even cruel?

    • I think its more the humiliation and servitude of the domesticated cow they object tokelpie
    • It's keeping them constantly pregnant and hooking their udders up for hours on end until sores appear and then...voiceof
    • putting antibiotics in the milk instead of fixing the sores so I can have my delicious chocolate milk. yumvoiceof
    • or so I've heardvoiceof
    • sorry voiceof but you're wrong. i worked on a farm until i was 16. you milk them 2x a day. the pump is only on...kona
    • ... their udders for 5 minutes, tops, depending on how much milk they have. your info is wrong duder.kona
    • But are there not nice decent farms like you worked on and then battery farms aswell? ...set
    • how much milk do you think is in their udder that can be pumped "hours on end?" it actually is a release for them...kona
    • as their udders become full. it's like peeing for us. don't piss for 5 hours, then go, feels good don't it?kona
    • battery farms... yes, there are exceptions to every rule but to say it hurts the cow is a lie.kona
    • fair enough!set
    • great set, very nice talking with you... now, how's up for a burger, fuck im' hungry.
      :)
      kona
    • Like cows are active animals if they weren't working for us anyway.... galloping around the pasteur all day.ETM
