There is a design company who did their website in power point, I can't remember theirename but they were in computer arts a couple of months back. Sorry that's not a lot of use.

i have yet to meet a designer who disses powerpoint that has ever been in the position of making lots of regular presentations at business meetings and conferences where the presentations need to be changed constantly and sometimes updated on the way to a meeting.
I have yet to come across anything other than powerpoint / impress to allow this type of flexibility for as wide a range of people.

what's the alternative? Is there a site of good business/academic/conference presentations that are made in something other than powerpoint/impress?
I have seen a presentation that involved placing objects on an old school overhead projector.....

Agree drgss/lowimpakt. It's a tool at the end of the day and we tend to think that the latest versions of 'pro' software is what we need.
Creativity is far more obvious when using limited equipment.
Also, as is the case with the lovecreative site, their work comes to the front and it's that which is important.

"Creativity is far more obvious when using limited equipment."
Exactly. The ability to communicate is paramount. The most impressive presentations I have seen were projections/notes free.

Depends what you mean by shit – hans_glib. If you mean that it isn't very animated or flashy or looks basic, does this mean it's a shit presentation?
The message is what's important and if the presentation gets the message across, then it works.
