Trump Reportedly Tried to Convince Kasich to Be His VP by Offering Him the President’s Job
http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_s…
As a candidate, Kasich declared in March that Trump was “really not prepared to be president of the United States,” and the following month he took the highly unusual step of coordinating with his rival Senator Ted Cruz in an effort to deny Trump the nomination.
But according to the Kasich adviser (who spoke only under the condition that he not be named), Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless: Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?
When Kasich’s adviser asked how this would be the case, Donald Jr. explained that his father’s vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.
Then what, the adviser asked, would Trump be in charge of?
“Making America great again” was the casual reply.
- Trump's campaign is beyond bizarre...I really do not know what to believe. And the entire RNC and GOP establishment are absolutely bonkers.utopian
- So he'd really just license the Trump name to the White House, not actually be involved. Typical for this piece of shit.monospaced

George W. Bush is reportedly worried he'll be America's last Republican president
Former President George W. Bush reportedly isn't sure the Republican Party will ever get another shot at the presidency. At a reunion for former members of his administration back in April, Bush reportedly admitted to a small group of former aides and advisers that he's seriously concerned that this election cycle, which has seen the party choose Donald Trump as its nominee, might spell the end of the GOP, Politico reported Tuesday. "I'm worried that I will be the last Republican president," Bush said, per Politico's report.
While many Republican elites are similarly concerned this Election Day will wreak havoc, not everyone is convinced that harm will be irreparable. Politico reported that top Republicans are already planning ahead for how to fix whatever mess Trump makes. "Here's the conclusion I've come to: American democracy and our form of government is much stronger than any individual," said former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, a Trump endorser. "Things look pretty bleak right now. But this too shall pass."

Ted Cruz pointedly did not endorse Trump at tonight's convention. Trump was pissed. I don't have an article for you. Look it up. Night!

- Otherwise there was nothing wrong with his speech. Crowd ONLY wanted to hear trump ass kissing and nothing else apparently.monospaced

After the shock has settled from having my whole account levied because of debt I am letting my anger against capitalism thaw a bit.
I don't think this country needs a socialist revolution but it needs evolution. It needs a conscious evolution.
In my state, in particular, the child support laws for levies are way too harsh and shouldn't put a father in the street (which is what's happening) There needs to be a limit on levies... perhaps 60-75% of a person's funds max.
Putting a father on the street for not having money to pay child support is counter-productive.

Trump praises Erdogan for coup crackdown
US Republican Party presidential nominee Donald Trump has praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his handling of last week's failed coup.
"I give great credit to him for being able to turn that around," Trump said in an interview to The New York Times.
The purge after the failed coup, which left more than 260 people dead, saw more than 50,000 civil servants fired, suspended or detained.
Asked if Erdogan was exploiting the coup attempt to get rid of his enemies, Trump said "I don't think we have a right to lecture".
"Look at what is happening in our country. How are we going to lecture when people are shooting policemen in cold blood?"

One day this past May, Donald Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., reached out to a senior adviser to Gov. John Kasich of Ohio, who left the presidential race just a few weeks before. But according to the Kasich adviser (who spoke only under the condition that he not be named), Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless: Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?

Donald Trump's 'Art Of the Deal' Ghost Writer Tells All
“If he had to be briefed on a crisis in the Situation Room, it’s impossible to imagine him paying attention over a long period of time."
Schwartz believes that Trump’s short attention span has left him with “a stunning level of superficial knowledge and plain ignorance.” He said, “That’s why he so prefers TV as his first news source—information comes in easily digestible sound bites.” He added, “I seriously doubt that Trump has ever read a book straight through in his adult life.” During the eighteen months that he observed Trump, Schwartz said, he never saw a book on Trump’s desk, or elsewhere in his office, or in his apartment.
.....anyway, this is a great read. Nice job, New Yorker. But Trumpeters probably don't care. They seem happy to elect a moron, as long as it's a so-called "DC-outsider", they're fine with him being a moron.
