I know many of you all will hate the source, but most media will not report this as anything more than a racial tirade by Trump.

There's more info by the day that shows this judge and organizations he belongs to shows serious conflicts of interest.

    http://www.breitbart.com/2016-pr…

    • The organization called for a boycott of his businesses. Not illegal or a conflict of interest.nb
    • The judge who happens to be a member of the organization calling for a boycott of his businesses, is serving for the litigation of one of Trumps businesses.IRNlun6
    • Are judges not allowed to be members of political organizations? Is it frowned upon? I'm legitimately asking.nb
    • Turns out these orgs are also listed on the La Raza website. Although a link on a website is not a direct connection, still suspect.IRNlun6
    • http://larazalawyers…IRNlun6

    • From my understanding, they can be members of any political org, but have a code of ethics to recuse themselves if there's any potential conflict.IRNlun6
    • I just read on a gov site that judges shouldn't be official "leaders" of the organizations, and that they shouldn't give speeches for them. Membership seemed oknb
    • The other media wouldn't report it because it's not much of an actual story.yuekit
    • He is a member of a legal group that is "affiliated" with another group that said negative things about Trumpyuekit

Simple fact: San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association ≠ National Council of La Raza.

    • Haven't read anything with any direct connections but they are linked on the website I linked below. The optics are not good.IRNlun6
    • Plus if they wanted to avoid any confusion, perhaps "La Raza" was not the best choice of words.IRNlun6
    • The optics don't look good if you're on trumps side but the fact is that they aren't the same and the affiliation isn't Curiels.monospaced

    • La Raza is a supremacist organization that calls for the reconquest of the West. Us hispanics don't universally call ourselves La Raza, we know what it means.IRNlun6

I'm legitimately curious about what rationale people have for planning to vote either way right now.

Does anyone have any really concrete reasons why they'd vote for Trump outside of vague notions that "he's different" from other politicians?

Same question on Hillary, outside of her being the the only other possible option right now, what policies speak to you?

Mind you both have been caught lying multiple times, or at least shifting their positions significantly to a degree that it's caused distrust among a great many people. So what really breaks through the noise with these two that speaks to you guys?

    • Can't enact any policy without the house and senate so specifics are really just promises at this point.IRNlun6
    • @IRN, yeah the last comment is totally fair, so do you think either can really make good on their promises? IMO they both seem like liars, and choosingben_
    • ...the better liar seems pretty depressing.ben_
    • I think personally trump hates inefficiency on gov operations as his dealings with the city has proven. I dont hillery has much of backbone so hard to tell.yurimon
    • Regardless of the policy you want to hear, I think it's clear that Trump is lacking in understanding of the major policies that impact the US and the world.mg33
    • So many things he's rattling on about are leaving smarter people baffled as to why he'd pull a 180 on so many things. Climate change, deals with allies, etc.mg33
    • I can understand a candidate's desire to change the status quo, but it's so widespread with Trump that many see it as quite dangerous and troubling.mg33
    • Trump and Bernie ran on pretty much the same issues. Although clearly with different temperaments and government/less government ideas.IRNlun6
    • I think many are accustomed to a very diplomatic, very pc way of politicians presenting themselves and are uncomfortable with a brash, unapologetic style.IRNlun6
    • I like Bernie, I just find pc and nice to be too cautious when this country is being chopped up and sold. They're both relatively similar on the problems.IRNlun6

@ben_ Here's one example of why Hillary is a better choice:

Hillary: I want half a billion solar panels installed. I want to power all US homes with renewable energy within 10 years.

Trump: "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive."

    • That's what I'm looking for. It would be good to understand people's understanding of the policies.ben_
    • /\ and less of this.ben_
    • policies go where the money tells it to go with clinton /endyurimon
    • You'll notice that people like yurimon & drake can't argue on policy, they can only give vague platitudes and generalizations. It's common.nb
    • I'm a little worried that there's only one real response so far.ben_
    • i dont think clintons policy matters just like last administrations policy promises matter compared to results. waste of typing.yurimon
    • you guys want to masterbate to details of marketing schemes to get votes be my guest.yurimon
    • I don't disagree with you that politicians in general don't hold true to their policies, but within all these posts it's super unclear as to why anyone wouldben_
    • How is half a billion solar panels installed a good thing? the second statement is a blanket im not even going to concern myself with...deathboy
    • vote for someone like Trump or Clinton. Seems like the options are pretty brutal either way, which is I guess why it descends into bickering.ben_
    • Will the poor be able to maintain them and the infrastructure needed? will an artificial increase in solar demand increase other energy costs where solar isdeathboy

    • Right. Shifting incentives from nuclear to solar should be looked at objectively. Don't assume that adding solar means "more" regulation. :)nb
