    "Trump signed 3 executive orders:
    1. Withdrawal from TPP
    2. Fed'l hiring freeze except military
    3. Limit abortion funding overseas"

Why is US funding abortion overseas?

    • < this.robotron3k

    • The order says US can't donate money to any health NGO that ever performs abortions.yuekit
    • In practice it means a lot of people won't get access to contraceptives which are often provided by same groups.yuekit

Trump's withdrawal from the TPP, threatening tariffs on mexican imports and threatening to scrap NAFTA all have to do with creating jobs for american factory workers.

problem is, I don't know many or any people that are clamouring to work in a factory these days, definitely not students, I don't think it's any kid's career ambition to be a factory worker.

So instead of focusing efforts on education and innovation and jobs of the future, he just wants to employ a nation of drones? Drones who's job could be better done by machines anyway.

    • I agree, who wants go to a temperture controlled office everyday, sit behind a computer, drink Starbucks, go to meetings, and sur the web. Sounds horriblerobotron3k
    • he thinks that's the way to fight China maybe...Beeswax
    • non political, but that is where those jobs are headed. a lot of jobs are going to be automated.keewee
    • < This. Plus I believe Trump want's to renegotiate so he and his family can get better deals on their imports. Believe it.hobgoblin
    • And by "their imports" I mean "the shit clothing brands of the Trumps and all the Chinese building materials Trump purchases for his shit hotels"hobgoblin
    • right, so he doesn't really give a shit about creating jobs, which he can't just as long as he levels the playing field with China..._niko
    • ...which has an endless supply of cheap unskilled labour_niko
    • the concept behind this isn't that create import taxes so that factory workers will get paid more? and due to labor shortages?sted

I have a fairly hands on job that skirts between 'professional white collar' and 'blue collar hands on drudgery', a bit of manual labour alongside admin and a a lot of computer work.

I have an eye on some automation options over the next 5 years, but only for the most menial of tasks.

Frankly, I find it hard to see how automation could replace mine and many other people I knows jobs.

Instead, I see those people and (hopefully) myself buying smarter hardware to be run by more people.

Automation in a functional capital market should lead to more and better jobs.

    .

On the other hand, I'd not like to be a middling lawyer in a few years. .

Two Republican senators on Monday unveiled the outlines of an ObamaCare replacement plan that they hope would be able to attract some Democratic support.

The plan, from Sens. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine), contains less drastic changes than some Republican proposals. It envisions keeping many of ObamaCare’s taxes in place in order to provide revenue for the replacement plan and gives states the choice of whether they want to keep ObamaCare.

Under the plan, known as the Patient Freedom Act, state legislatures would have the choice of whether to keep ObamaCare operating in their states, complete with its subsidies, mandates and protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

Other states, the senators say, could opt into an alternative plan that would provide a uniform tax credit linked to a health savings account to help people afford a basic, less comprehensive health insurance plan.

Without pressure you do not want to fight for the things affect your life in the long run like learning, discover the world outside your contort zone, and actually search for the truth.

The most loudly yelled information into your ear gets accept as a fact because it echoes in your head, suppress your own thoughts, and makes you unable to accept contrary ideas or question your own belief.

This is the foundation of the XXI century populist ideology.

The curse of capitalism and democracy is that wealth makes a man lazy. It is not just about how hard you work, but the relationship with humanity as a whole.

Another rightwing do as I say not as I do moment.

Facebook is blowing up with people losing their shit that Barron Trump should be off limits.

    (he should be btw)

But it's funny though because I don't recall Chelsea Clinton being off limits and frankly recall the likes of JaXz being quite the dick to and about her. Not to mention, the same real snowflakes here who were flat-out brutal about Chelsea and the Obama girls. Now they're losing their shit coming to Barron's defense? Fuck the lot of you.
