I like the big butterfly piece, I don't like any other stuff, however I couldn't concentrate because the video needed deinterlaced. I'd get fucking shot if I sent a video out like that, !!!. The gold spot painting thing just looks shite like wrapping paper.

seeing it again i must say respect to those sotheby's reps for being able to keep such a straight face while talking such enormous nonsense.
don't get me wrong, i like a good talk about art, but this is just bs.

hmmm the more i look at this selection of art the more i am learning to appreciate it.
sometimes i feel living as a designer for the past 7-8 years made me blind for other universes of mental immersion...
oh dear, i am really saying this profession goodbye this time, aren't i?
hmm.. not gone yet though..............

I'd never heard of this gentleman. (And really, this is one of the reasons I bother hanging out with a bunch of juvenile idiots obsessed with pop culture, simplistic political analysis, and women's privates – some of you really know your stuff, and I learn a lot. Just kidding – you're all alright (except for that wiley ukit). I like the spot paintings a lot, as well as the stained glass paintings. The rest doesn't really move me, but that's art.

Jeff Koons is better. And thank you Dog Opus for not lumping me in with the rest of the juvenile idiots out there, although I'm not sure how I feel about being called "wiley."

those sales people make me feel really uncomfortable.....
anyway, I really enjoyed jan fabre at the louvre last may. anyone visited? from the looks of it, it was way better than the koons stuff at versailles.
and now damien is reaching for the top by demanding his diamond scull to be exhibited at classic artmuseums only tsss

i am trying to appreciate the art without being distracted by the pricing/demand/artist etc. and then i can appreciate it a little bit more. i certainly don't like all of his work, but the spot paintings i can appreciate.

How can those rich fags sleep at night, knowing that not far from them is a homeless man or in the next country poverty ridden orphans battle everday for a grain of rice.
What a total and absolute waste of money. I am an artist, but I would not sell my art for such high prices, knowing it is a waste. (before anyone asks, I regularly give my artwork to charity auctions).

Respect to DH, however rich he might be, daring to straight from the workshop to auction is still a risky business. Few dare and few succeed. Would give more credits to him than say Banksy.

"few people consider it art.."
have you heard yourself in this thread janne?
You sound like an dull, conservative, media-fed philistine
I mean, yes it's obvious he has a Warholesque 'factory' and its even more obvious that this is a market minded 'best of' collection but no need to get all rabble rousing and offended.
Appreciate what's to be appreciated in the pieces for what they are, and appreciate his business acumen as another form of art, taking wealth from the wealthy.
