I love how the word GOD irritates so many people.
you can't even see past your own rational.
Can someone tell me why you would still play the left vs right game when you should realize both parties are corrupt and no matter who you support you get the same outcome?
How is the hope, change and lies working for you?
- God doesn't irritate me, but you doRand
- truth irritates you.spraycanII
- no, you doRand

He's exhibiting all the signs that he's heading for a nervous breakdown. He has terrible persecution issues and is emotionally stunted at about 12 years old. He emulates a female authority figure that in his mind took him away from, or thwarted the love of his mother. He was always fearful of his distant father whom he came to despise by the time he was 12. Now his mission is to impose intellectualized compassion onto a world that he sees stuck in a prepubescent emotional state that was the last time he can remember being happy, hoping to ease the burden of sublimated rage that fuels his agressive smirk and dominates the tightly wound handwriting that he shows it's so important we see. And more and more, his work becomes clear to him, and against - all - humility, it is HIM who has been chosen to start the great teaching. His work is a crescendo of importance and sacrifice and hard work.
He will be off the air within 6 months, lionised as having worked too hard for a just cause, but in reality doped up on haldane with 10 grands worth of therapy a week. We'll see him again in a year, looking 10 years older and 50 lbs lighter when he'll be plugging a biography about these 'dark days' and laying the groundwork for a right wing Maury style show about incorporating Conservative principles into troubled teen lives.
It will last one series and that will be it.- I will piss in my own shoes if this isn't word for word what happens.mikotondria3

As far as I can tell, much of the neo-conservative viewpoint is consonant with classical liberalism (individual rights, property ownership, free markets, etc.). The ideology that is called "liberalism" today has more in common with fascism (statism, minus the nationalism of Hitler and Mussolini) than actual liberty, in my opinion.
I don't think that Glenn Beck is any more "mentally ill" than the goofballs on Air America or Rush Limbaugh. These are opinion/editorial/news analysis people. It's basically news/politics with a lot of entertainment. You can like it or not, but it doesn't make a person mentally because you don't share his or her political viewpoints. That being said, I think Michael Savage might be mentally ill. Whereas other talk show hosts might be controversial, he's just way over the top. He actually starts to make sense sometimes, and then he goes nuts, spluttering out all manner of hateful crap. I'm kind of surprised he hasn't gone off the deep end yet and just killed someone.
I like to listen to Howie Carr in the car if I'm not listening to music. I don't always agree with him, but his show is enormously entertaining.

Interesting that the take of a real old school conservative is exactly at odds with those of the neo-cons who are all over the tv:
- Isn't the neo-con hope that they can somehow westernize Russia still.Mimio

"The neoconservative desire to spread democracy abroad has been likened to the Trotskyist theory of permanent revolution. Lind argues that the neoconservatives are influenced by the thought of former Trotskyists such as James Burnham and Max Shachtman, who argued that "the United States and similar societies are dominated by a decadent, postbourgeois 'new class.'" He sees the neoconservative concept of "global democratic revolution" as deriving from the Trotskyist Fourth International's "vision of permanent revolution." He also points to what he sees as the Marxist origin of "the economic determinist idea that liberal democracy is an epiphenomenon of capitalism," which he describes as "Marxism with entrepreneurs substituted for proletarians as the heroic subjects of history."
- I see. In terms of exporting the ideology.Mimio
- Some make that argument yes. I think it has some merit.TheBlueOne

It seems neo-conservatism wants to control everything but commerce.
Neo-Liberalism wants to control that as well
- waterhouse0
That's what I started to state. Neoconservitism is this bizarre amalgam that's really born out of the liberal movement in actively managing society.
- It's actually marxism taken to it's logical extreme....TheBlueOne
- I guess it's the old "you go far east you end up in the west" kinda thing...TheBlueOne
- Neo-Conservatism is? I don't really see how it resembles Marxism at all.Mimio
