What epete22 said is what makes more sense to me.
you are buying "unique branding" that will not be confused with someone else's company..You can make up a story about a guy in nebraska that bought a $99 logo for his children party catering service that looked exactly like the town's porno book store/ tittie bar.

you can elaborate how moms will bring kids into the store, and then the party turned into a fiasco because the kid wanted the "mega candle" that was the size of his arm, flexible and with veins all over but his mom kept making up stories on how that was not real a birthday candle..

Ask them to design the QBN logo that is, oh, i don't know, say... a design forum. See how they interpret it. Get 6 or 7 people to separately see what we get. 50p each?

yeah... the original one... was hand drawn and only the swoosh part, no "nike." They had it on display for a while at a Nike historical exhibit in Portland. It is very hard to find a picture of and i dunno what is going on with that 1971 version, lol... I worked in sport culture at Nike for a few years and I have never seen the logo with the swoosh going through it like that.
