My first purchase on itunes - Burial "untrue" album after all the hype I had been hearing about it because of his mercury nomination.
From the little snippets i'd heard previously and for all the critical acclaim i was reading about this album, I was expecting something somewhere between Goldie "Timeless" and DJ Shadow's "Endtroducing".
The album has some amazing attention to detail and layer upon layer of delicious sound, the way he has played some of the vocals at normal speed then the last word is slowed or extended - its amazing.
BUT, he uses that vocal technique on practically every song.
AND the beats - AAAARGH!
I dont mind a bit of Drum n Bass / Jungle if its not too repetitive, but this repetitive two-step malarky. Think its a london (or gritty city) thing, or maybe just an english thing. Because two-step doesnt even get a look-in up here in scotland - its a "lahndan thing" methinks.
I do love the cinematic sound though and all the beautiful layers. If his beats had been dirty breaks rather than repetitive two-step then this album wouldve got HUUUUGE thumbs-up from me.

Really one of the only dubsteppers I can stomach... Looking forward to the DJ Kicks as well...

Not that I didn't already hate the fuckwit arserag that is The Sun anyway but I am disgusted at them for campaigning to out the guy's identity. Those fucks really need to stick 'in the' back in "In the public interest" - semantics make all the difference between idle curiosity and a pertinent need to know.
God, people are dicks.

boring sound.
dub step sounds like drum and bass in a tin can.

the music is great. as neue said above, it's one of the few dubstep people i can take.
the untrue album from start to end is fantastic. it's extra fantastic on a rainy day. really makes the mood if you get what i'm saying.
as far as outing his identity, i could really care less. it's interesting how there was so much speculation about how it may be richard james and such...
he deserves the praise though, that's for sure.
